Hi all my lads were going to Chelsea game at Southend tonight and arrived at ground at 650 to find game was called off due to fog. Due to Southend officials concerns and noting fog was lifting they asked ref for second inspection and at 715 he said game now on....apparently quite a few had already started the journey away from the ground....its a funny old game!!!!

Estuary fog (and I'm being serious here) is totally unlike inland fog in that it can come and go in an instant - usually with a drop or rise in temperature and all credit to the ref for having the balls to reconsider. I'm watching the game and it is being played in a perfectly clear environment.................mind you, what's it like a just a mile away on the "sea" front? Another reason in the argument against Bonkers Boris and his enthusiasm for a major London airport in the Thames Estuary - it's no coincidence that the most fog affected airport in this country is London City Airport and where is it? On a virtual island in the Thames! I've had some great nights at "The Hall"..........good luck to the Shrimpers!

Yeah, I heard the game was called off whilst listening to Talksport. They had a little chat about the effect of fog at games. I have just turned off my PS3 and put the tele on to see a 1-1 scoreline. I thought Talksport had been on the end of a big wind up
