Surprised Mike Green and Paul Buckle are up where they are. How do their win per games ratios compare?

It can go tits up for the best managers. Still has a chance to be the best ever though fast running out of time to get this batch playing.

Mike Green was sacked after we finished 17th in what is now League 2. Had 3 points for a win been in place we’d have been ten points clear of safety (4th from bottom back then) and 14 points clear of what is now a relegation place. Yet in 1981 finishing that low was considered a very poor season. What we’d give for Mike Green’s team now!
His win ratio is lower than Buckle and Johnson but all of it was at a higher level so not only can he be considered unlucky to have lost his job, he probably also regretted not taking the opportunity to take over as manager of Bristol Rovers when they were in what is now the Championship. Green was only in his early 30s when he was offered that job and was still very young when he finished at Torquay. He must have been deeply hurt never to have ventured near management again (although I have a feeling he might have had something to do with Newton Abbot) but did take over the local post office near the Haywain.

Am I missing something. I would have thought Frank O'Farrell would have been on that list.

Am I missing something. I would have thought Frank O'Farrell would have been on that list. You are absolutely right! Yes Frank has taken charge of 244 games over three spells as manager and is indeed still in third position. Its a good job we are not a sacking club so theres still plenty of time for Gary Johnson to move up the list.

Something tells me that Gary is going nowhere and records will be broken…speaking of records, I’ll let Sandie explain why.

Sorry Guys. Gary's time is up. At his age and with his heart history he should stop. For his own good and for ours . . . . .
God love him for what he's tried to do but it's over. Clear Gary and his crew right out - stop beating up Uncle Clarke and accept that he has made a great commitment in his way.
If anyone has a £1 million or two each year to replace Uncle then stand up and be counted - otherwise stop moaning
Moving on, how about Asa Hall as the next Manager who can play sometimes ?

Totally agree...GJ has been a great manager. However sometimes good managers stay too long. The play off defeat to Hartlepool was a real killer. He was also not helped much by his defensive coach or his recruiting staff. Time for fresh faces.

Well done Squatty, everyone is quick to condemn Sharkey, but I don’t see anyone else dragging a million quid out of their pockets! Gary isn’t going anywhere.
