Thought the lad had something about him but yet another who's disappeared from the scene with no explanation.
We need pace and more physical strength in the middle of the park and in front of the last line, players who know how to "grind out" a result and frustrate opponents. Is Asa Hall still good enough to command an automatic place? Looks way out of his comfort zone now seems ready to play walking football. Laps does fantastic has incredible workrate but can easily be bullied off the ball because of his stature. Donelan had an excellent game last night and is one of the plus points but feel he may be more beneficial playing a more defensive midfield role.
I doubt much will change tactically GJ is set in his ways to play an attacking open game that leaves us exposed and scrambling desperately to defend last night and against most others at our level. Im not sure he knows another way to play! We were ruthlessly exposed in full public view with our pretty basic and predictable tactics last night and its been no different in the league. Most managers at our level will have looked at that last night and had a good laughed despite us trying to match the opposition in footballing terms. Its not working with how were tacticallty set up. You either change the players who cannot addapt or adjust the tactics to suite what you do have Fine when you have a very good set of players as we've seen over the past few season under this manager but now we have such a limited squad something surely has to change tactically or we will just continue to leak goals.
We need to climb the division and stop shipping goals for fun.
Playing the way we are all I can see is more big scores against us. Its roulette football.

I assumed he had been sacrificed because we had too many loanees.

He's still at the club-was at the match on Tuesday and came on the pitch with the others at the end, to applaud the supporters, according to those that were there.

I would agree and have been saying similar elsewhere.
I can only see Asa Hall as a substitute attacking midfield option to change the game now. It’s clearly his last season at this level and is a shame, but time comes after us all and appears to have caught up with the fine servant and inspirational leader that he has been.
If we are unable to turn any loans into permanents (and realistically that will only apply this season to Ellis or Wearne) then I would start Ellis and Moxey as centre backs and reinstate Smith in the starting X1.

Has Omar burnt his bridges? Ness ellis and Moxey appear our best combination either as a back four or a back five. In front is where we need more gritt and and solidity. Its easy to blame the defenders for our defensive problems i see it as whats just in front of them where the main issues lie.

.... Has Omar burnt his bridges? ... I thought he had a reasonable little cameo performance on Tuesday. I know the match was done when he came on but he still had time to show that he can pick a pass. So, if there's no room for him at the back, would he fit in anywhere further forward? Just a thought!

We need to do something to shore up that creaking midfield and if it means just Jarvis up front then so be it.

Don’t think either Omar or Marshall have looked up to the task, to be honest. I agree that Ness looks reasonable, and can see where Jerry is coming from to shoehorn Smith in. Something seriously needs to be done in midfield as, for me, that’s where we are losing games right now.

He's had some pretty good cameos in the past and were all hoping and thinking, yes perhaps GJ saw something in the lad..... and then he switches off for a split second and looks poor and vulnerable. Having said that its the defensive side of midfield where our problems start. We look exposed at the back because of our lack of a true defensive midfield leader to organise and shield the back line with a liTtle bit of knowhow, physicality and, dare I say it PACE! Cant see much changing this weekend and expecting yet another high scoring game of football roulette with defenders exposed and blamed once again.

Looks like we are all in agreement....lack of defensive midfield players is our main problem.

It might also help if we improve the productivity of our set pieces. I see little creativity or imagination in this department.
