Another high scoring game methinks....... You got that right. Even first half and we deservedly got an equaliser and could then have gone ahead but for a great save. Second period was a shambles and they toyed with us. From memory they had five meaningful shots and scored the lot. We probably had more shots but, apart from our one goal, we were woeful. It was an exhibition in clinical finishing from them. I didn't think there would be that many goals to be honest, but we look at the game emotionally rather than objectively. Emotionaly we believe we have a chance, objectively we don't really have any. In a couple of days we're going to be at it again in the cup. Yes, it made fantastic viewing on the tele and put a few bob in my pocket, but it is something we could really do without. Still who knows what will happen...

I feared a hiding today but maybe not quite one as bad as 1-5, more like 0-3.
I don’t think Chesterfield even played especially well. In the first half I would say we were the better side and only a Gordon Banks-type save kept us from leading 2-1 which would not have been undeserved after Chesterfield had scored what felt like an easy opener.
Once they went 2-1 up, that was it. Torquay didn’t have the stomach or the energy for yet another fight back and it just became a training session for Chesterfield. I think they had another gear or so to give if they wanted it. Chesterfield pretty much won 5-1 without even trying.
Looking at the table, it is hard to see us pulling out of this with the only consolation that all the other teams currently in the drop zone are northern so that would make next season a bit easier if we are in the NLS.

Only way i can cope now is to accept that we're very likely to be relegated. I cant see GJ changing his all or nothing tactics. Conceding so many goals with very little to suggest any improvement in that area will undoubtedly see us drop down. Watching Brentford at man city defending as a team, organized quick to the man and so sharp around the danger areas was incredible. A real lesson in closing down the best players in the world. We have the slowest midfield group who are not particularly defensive minded. The gaps between the back line and those in front consantly makes us look so exposed. Opponents watching must be rubbing their hands. Never thought i would say it but im fed up with high scoring games. Can we please go back to the professional solid days of 1-0,0-0, 2-1s etc because were begining to look like a local park side with silly score lines to suite. 0-0 a rare beast these days.
