I remember this well. Pretty sure we were 2-0 down and Williams came on as sub and scored a brace to win the game late on.

I remember this well. Pretty sure we were 2-0 down and Williams came on as sub and scored a brace to win the game late on. Absolutely 90 minutes were up when William's equalised. Three minutes later in added time he won the game. The Pop side chant that season was "Are you Blackpool in disguise?". Of course with Blackpool winning the game was held up for several minutes by a Blackpool fan streaking. Disrupted the game. Bet he was popular! 🤣 |

Bet he was popular! 🤣 I don’t remember the streaker - just as well, I should think! This was one of the most outrageous victories I recall seeing - we were battered from start to 2 minutes from the end with (I think) Brett Omerod running rings around us. Steve McMahan, the then Blackpool manager, couldn’t speak about the match afterwards - the streaker did cop the blame though. |
