Trick question! The photo of our full 13 man squad is from just before the start of the 1977/78 season. Tomlin Vassallo Lawrence Lee Lee Boulton Raper Brown Rudge Twitchin Green Dunne Darke What a joy it was to watch Mike Green's exciting attacking approach after the Musgrove years. Lindsay Parsons signed just after this photo, but Tomlin got crocked. We started the season 4-3-3 with Lee, Lawrence and Brown up top but when Tomlin was fit we flogged Colin Lee to Spurs. With Peter Darke and Dave Rudge out injured we had only eleven fit pros for a six match run with schoolboy Maurice Cox or local player Ian Sanderson on the bench. Then we signed Peter Coffill and played 4-2-4 with two wingers. It was wonderful stuff. |

Must have been wearing the old kit from the previous seasons before as 77/78 was the first time we wore white shirts and blue shorts with a kit manufactured by Pilgrim prior to the same colour scheme being used by Buckta and Umbro until the 81/82 season when the blue shorts were dropped.
