This is always a tricky fixture particularly after our rivalry in the National League South and Woking are actually on a good run of form, winning four out of their last six games with just narrow losses against Solihull Moors and Halifax who are both at the top end of the table showing the level we need to be at for a win. Darren Sarll has also been recently appointed so an opportunity to do the treble over him in one season.
We are building up a head of steam ourselves with three straight wins, while we had three league wins back in December, that was punctuated by the FA Trophy loss against Tonbridge Angels, probably a good thing in retrospect although did not feel like it at the time. The side seems to be settled but it remains to be seen whether Wearne will be fit after hobbling off with an ankle injury on Saturday.
With the final game on the 15th of May, we now enter the last month of the regular football season and with eight games still left, it’s going to be a hectic finale including the two bank holiday double headers at Easter and in early May.

I had completely missed the fact that Yeovil’s manager, Darren Sarll, had taken the Woking job until I heard his name mentioned in the highlights programme at the weekend. I realise it’s more his neck of the woods, but that’s some comedown for Yeovil when their manager leaves for Woking. In terms of Woking, I’m not sure Sarll was necessarily doing any better than Alan Dowson and whilst I wasn’t keen on him he probably deserved more time from Woking considering the job he did there. They looked pretty decent when they hammered us early on.

TUFC preview - I will take a similar result to that from almost exactly 1 year ago.

Not a bad side Woking and have had some good results though inconsistent so this will be yet another tough encounter with one of our more recent arch rivals. I don't feel we have any pressure on us mainly because the play offs are still such a long shot and also feel the players should just go out to enjoy the challenge and the occasion and play with freedom that will make us dangerous.
A must win or nothing is the only way to approach it and we will be on the offensive from the off again - It may work in our favour it may not though to produce another display of last weeks standard will be asking an awful lot, the players have set the bar high but here's hoping.

Hoping Lapslie is being rested. Better to have Hall today and Lapslie Monday than both today and neither Monday.
Wonder why Halstead is missing. Lolos on the bench after a long absence.
Sounded like we were well on top first half, so would be nice to be more than one up.
We will kick ourselves if we don’t win today.
The door is ajar for a late gatecrasher.

4-2-3-1 according to Radio Devon - which is how we finished the Notts County game.
Johnson centre midfield and Lemon wide left.

Great result for us but Grimsby beating Stockport is a massive result for them.
Top seven looking very difficult to catch.

Just about maintained the seven point gap. A real shame was looking much better early on. Scunthorpe down today Stevenage improving now under that lovely chap with fat fingers and eye makeup and its looking like another Northern side will follow in Oldham.
Realistically we will be playing both next season despite the heroic effort of recent weeks the reality is we have to play Stockport, Grimsby next week, Dagenham & Redbridge and Chesterfield. It would an achievement of epic proportions to make up eight points on those above us with the games we have left. What is as important as ever now is we finish strongly and keep the squad together and motivated for next season challenge but however it pans out its been a fun ride of late and who really knows what could happen.

Think Halstead is injured and Lapslie felt his hip flexor so rested as precaution but hope to be back for Monday.

Almost a good day at the office, with only Grimsby spoiling it.
Our near neighbours are revelling in glory again, whilst we as usual wallow in Dinosaurs shit! 🦕
Exeter nailed on for league one, and Plymouth with a very good chance of the Championship. Now that would have been a good bet, all three Devon teams going up…only to be spoilt by one team of course.
Don't understand this good that we’re finishing strongly, so that we can start strongly next season nonsense. Always nice to keep the season going tiss all.
A rumour is about, that we are changing our club name to Tesco United…because Every Little Helps!
Should anyone not understand the significance of the above line…please feel free to contact me. 🙂

On a positive note...hopefully we will be 3 points closer to play off spots on Monday.Less optimistically...it seems likely Little and CLE will attract attention from bigger clubs...like Wrexham for example.
