...Had Roberts not sold him, we would have still struggled to stay up but his goals might have given us a fair chance, he was on fire at the start of that season, he was a few months into a 3.5 yr contract if you remember, so he was sold far too cheaply.
His sale was effectively the nail in the coffin of our 80 yr league status.
75k doesn't soften that blow.

Would have to agree with jmgull and Aussie - the bloke was an insane Walter Mitty cash grabbing tos8er ( allegedly). He should have been nailed to the cross in front of the popside and let the birds peck his eyes out. Evil.............

Is'nt 25% of 400 grand 100 grand? ?? its 25% of the profit made so we sold him for £90,000 i think which means we get 25% of £310,000

That smiley face to me looks like its rather glad about something pal! Glad because it's happy to have made a sentence ironic. Dear god man. Do I have to spell it out?

We are due 25% of the profit Chesterfield make.
They have a sell on clause of their own.
If Barnsley sell him for £5 million some time in the future they could be looking at 25% of £4.6 million (£1.15 million if my maths is right).
Do we have a 25% claim on that (£287,500) as well seeing as it is "profit" for them on the deal?
Sorry if I'm being stupid here, just not sure how far down the line these deals go. Somewhere in the back of my mind is a nagging memory about money we got from subsequent Darren Moore transfers (but it may be my mind playing tricks!)

With the Darren Moore sell-on, we lost-out because Donny sold-out the clause to Bradford for a pretty nominal fee as they were strapped for cash (we got a percentage of this small amount!), so Doncaster didn't profit when he moved to Portsmouth.
I am holding my breath until the figures are announced. Would anyone be surprised if it was announced that roberts negotiated the "sale" of the sell-on clause for some quick cash (£5k or something!) before he went?

So does that mean we could be entitled to something if and when Ward moves again?
