Dave, I have nothing to come clean about as you put it. As you are well aware from the pm chat we had, I told you exactly what i've just posted about. A little investigative work is all it takes to see who capitalgull is writing about and that he is totally wrong in what he is saying. I have no qualms admitting that I would pass on something said about someone in such a defamatory way. I raised concerns about things that were being written on here previously and do so again as I feel it is grossly unfair. Why would that be a problem? Phil I have a long chat with Dave on the phone, I also found him fine to talk too, people will have their views on .net or .anything and are all aware not to name any staff on any forum, or to bring their personal feelings towards any one of them in here. As I have not seen the posts on .net( I never view now) I am not aware who is supposed to have made the posts on there. Many of the members on this forum are here only because of their views about .net. That is not the fault of the forum, but people must surly be allowed to express their views. Do I take it we can only look forward to any posts from you, when you see something S.Gull may not like

No need to apologise to me, I was just surprised that such a mistake was made. Dave, I was in contact by msn with sotongull who was giving me some help when I read the earlier post, if passing on that kind of information is considered a treasonable offence, I plead guilty, but it was obviously a talking point all things considered. It is, simply because everything written on this forum by me and everyone else, belongs to the forum owner. I stated before that what was written in the forum should remain in the forum. Well look on the bright side, if your force needs a new detective, you know where to come.

Far from it Dave, I just like to see things done fairly, one of the reasons I initially fell out with sotongull. I don't give him an easy ride either, but he's been very helpful to me over the last few weeks and I owed him that at the very least. I prefer to lurk.

Please note I have also apologised directly to those affected by my mistaken claim via the other forum, and hope that will bring an end to it.
To say I am upset with myself tonight would be an understatement of the highest order. Those who know me know I hate to make mistakes, and this was not a nice one to make!!

Thanks for that, its OK I didn't know who you were talking about and unless you had read the thread and I have not, its meaning less. Don't be upset mate, glad to have you on the forum, keep posting Dave R

Hopefully the last posting on this matter....I've been chatting with Dave (SG) and apart from the fact I owe him a beer now (probably 2), he is okay with me, but he just asked that I posted the below, which he posted on the 'offending' .net thread on Sunday. It was also the last post on the thread, so it seems to have worked. 'Having spoken to Colin Lee at length on the phone to air my own grievances and listen to his, I can say in all honesty that he is more than happy to take any flak aimed in his direction. I'm sure that nobody who does have a problem with him would deny that he has done a remarkable job in helping turn around the fortunes of our Club. Let's not forget one thing though, he is only one of ten people on our Board. I've questioned his judgement and listened intently to his answers and at the end of the day it is his job to do what he thinks best for the Club, i've no problem with that. One thing I won't accept however is him feeling he has any right to control anything written on this site. He is more than aware of the views of the people who run this site and that while we always want to have good relations with the Club, we are independent and will remain as such. He was respectful and polite towards me but not so with Louis so as with most people, there are obviously two sides. This thread is or was to celebrate his birthday so can we keep it on topic and not get into any squabbles here, thanks.' I'll consider myself owing Dave R a beer for my mistake as well, although it certainly provoked plenty of postings, so maybe he should owe me one

Thanks for that capitalgull, I know many have strong views, but really for the good of this forum, I really hope everyone can move on and if only the energy could be put into the forum, instead, it will only get better
Many thanks Dave R

Jon.................take that on board and do not accept that all you read is "kosher". Merse, I trust you have noted that the comment you relied upon was not in fact kosher. You will be pleased to know that as soon as I read it I knew that it wasn't kosher - but you went with it hook, line and sinker. I'm not as green as you like to think I am - and sometimes when you think I'm two steps behind I might just be two steps ahead. But we're not really arguing over anything are we? We both acknowledge our huge appreciation of all that Colin Lee has achieved in the past year and the tremendous strides OUR club has made. Our difference seems to be that I am in favour of dotnet leaving fans to talk and show themselves up as ignorant if they want to - which I believe was always Mervo's philosophy. You seem to be in favour of draconian censorship to outlaw any negative comments about anybody at the club. Strange really, given that the mantra of this site is supposed to be freedom of speech.

I am very sorry to Dave R/Phil/Jon.... Hopefully honest mistakes are allowed on this forum - if not, consider me gone as soon as you want me gone. Absolutely no need to apologise mate. If you shot people for making mistakes, you'd only be left with people who never did anything and never said anything.
