Ah, got it.............. It SEEMS as though you are preoccupied with pedantically claiming (and it SEEMS to me - in an out of context fashion) that you were the only one with a post deleted, when in fact there were a good few of us who saw our posts disappear when Dave removed that thread. Now that may not be so, but that's how it SEEMS to me! Anyway, onwards and sideways Yet again you do me a disservice. If you would trouble yourself to read the thread through once more you will see quite clearly that I do not make the claim that I am the only one to have a post deleted. Rather than admit your mistake you "seem" intent on further attempts to discredit my replies. First you misquote me, then embarrass yourself by claiming to have used the quote facility, quite wrongly, now you wish to mock my post which corrected your misquote. A simple apology, or acknowledgement would have sufficed. The thread that my posts relate to, correct me if i'm wrong Dave, only contained two posts from Dave along with one from myself. Andygulls, you're correct, now I know why I usually just lurk, rather than engage in useless dialogue with people who "seem" intent on trying to ridicule others. Dave has explained his reasons to me and I fully understand, my apologies for letting my standards slip and becoming embroiled in petty discussion with someone I should just rise above, it won't happen again.

Just so we can put this to bed, The thread contain one post from me, next one from Phil and one from Sean, these were the only posts deleted. The only other post that has been deleted, was Mine!!!, done by t2ufc, and I'm main admin ;D ;D ;D and one thread stated by t2ufc was deleted by me(had to get my own back ;D ;D) because it was not appropriate, and one post has had to have an edit, due to a members full name binging used. All recorded in the forums security log.

This Forum has not been set up to be a rival, or to compete, with any other fans forum, that may be on the net. I simply was a member of another forum, that I felt had changed in such a way, that I no longer enjoyed using it. This was mainly down to how the site was now being run. My comment and concerns were not wanted and the bottom line was, I was told if you don’t like it, go somewhere else. This forum was only set up to be that somewhere else, as I believed many others felt the same way as I did. Time will tell if I was right or wrong. For this forum to succeed it needs to have members and those members need to contribute to the forum. Without the members posting, there would be no forum. In three months time this forum could be a busy, good and well run forum, or it could be a total flop. I have never set up and run a forum before, but I’m happy that I got it up and running. I’m learning and I will make mistakes, I will also learn from them. If after some time the forum has failed, I would be disappointed, but I believe its better to have tried and failed, than not to have tried at all. At least I would have know that I gave it my best shot. Part one was to set this forum up, I have done that, part two is to try and get many more members. Please feel free to spread the word that we are here. Part three is for me, is to listen to the members and try and run the forum, in the way I believe they would all want it run. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Dave R My first post on this site ! It sounds a great idea starting this site and well done Dave R for setting it up, and the best of luck for its future success. As for getting more members I noticed that this site does not get any mention when you use a search engine. Will this change as so far this site is an excellent advert for TUFC, whether supporters or not ? I personally don't know any of the members on this site, but I was most disappointed when Merse was permanently banned from the dot net site. I am not particularly interested in commenting on personality conflicts, life is too short. But to many readers like myself not reading Merse's comments anymore on Dot Net was a big loss. It seemed too excessive to me to ban someone permanently, particularly someone of Merse's undoubted integrity, long history of posting on Dot Net, his vast knowledge of TUFC that spans decades, his forthright views, his principled stance etc. That's not to say I agree with some of his viewpoints e.g. regarding players or managers, but he is always a riveting read. So it is Dot Net's loss and this site's gain to have Merse on board, in my opinion. I hope this site maintains its current high standard of posts. I must say I don't miss all this yellow and red card nonsense being dished out. And it is refreshing to read properly constructed sentences with decent grammar. I don't expect perfect English but is it really that difficult to spell the correct "there", "their", or "they're" etc, to quote some examples. So well done everyone so far on this excellent site and it will be interesting to see how it evolves.

Thanks and a warm welcome swangull, we do have a spell checker, so no need for those spelling mistakes ;D ;D. Merse is a great poster to have on board, well he was theirs, they lost him. I got him and guess what, I'm going to keep him The goggle bots do comb the site, we have now made it on goggle, only page 3 but its a start. Numbers are not my game, I would rather have 150 good members, who make the sort of posts you refer too. Thanks for joining and look forward to reading more of your posts.

Good to see another quality poster join us Swangull, I'm looking forward to your excellent match summaries as soon as the time arrives. Thanks for your kind words on my postings - I always endeavour to be entertaining when I do so, and if it invites invective or scorn then so be it...............at my age the skin is certainly thick enough to take that on the chin. I'd back Dave in preferring quality to quantity, and would equate this site to be akin to "taking" The Times as opposed to "scanning The Sun before (in the case of the latter) utilising it for a far better use either in the toilet or the local chippy!

Good 'late evening' boys. I've read Merse on the HE. Not always agreed but never had a problem with someone stating their views - and he's never offensive as I could see. Now, I haven't been on the .net and don't know what has gone on, but the reason I have signed up here is because I like free-speech without too much club control. I look forward to honest debate. And, at the end of the day (to use an old cliche) we all love the club and want success. If anyone's read the bbc 606; I liked reading ForeverTUFC's postings and many of the others (even the Greeks) - but if there is some politics I haven't been aware of, please let me know before I put a size ten in it!? I'm an exile ( and have been for many years) but I still have Torquat at my footballing heart - despite my Midlands colleagues taking the pis*. Cheers all.

Welcome to you too! There was no "club" control of .net...............far from it as it is a wholly independent entity - as is this site. The "control" came from within over a latter period of time. Also, this is a "politics" free zone...................take me as an example: I have a quiet respect and admiration for the achievements of the board, management and trust of Exeter City. Whilst I don't feel the need to shout about it, I wouldn't expect to be derided or abused for stating that fact on this site purely because we don't attract the moronic type of "ya boo" posters who go in for so called "banter" as a means of communication.

Yep, welcome to the new guys. I deserted .net at start of the year due to some individuals who shall remain nameless. It's good to be back.

Yet another constructive thinker and one eloquent enough to entertain with his contributions.................welcome to somewhere where you will be valued! I had a lurk and trawl through "Another TU Fans" site yesterday, and apart from some appalling personal attacks on Colin Lee (seems like he is the "pet project" now, I wonder why?) it was full of banality..........where are all the interesting contributors going?

I think your fixation with dotnet is getting the better of you. It's hardly a barrage of vicious abuse and unsubstantiated allegations, is it? One or two have said that they have had issues with him - well they very probably have. One person has claimed that he does bugg*r all and doesn't deserve to be on the payroll. The Mervo approach to that would have to be to let people say daft things and let other people decide for themselves what to make of it. The vast majority sentiment is that Colin Lee is doing a fine job and has played a massive part in the transformation of OUR club - which I would totally agree with. Colin Lee is big enough and ugly enough to take a bit of stick. I don't agree that anyone is 100% good or 100% bad. There is good and bad in everyone. Colin is not Saint Colin and he has his faults. In my opinion, his plus points outweigh his minus points by a long way.

Let's get one thing straight, I am banned from posting on .net; not reading it. It's not the only, nor majority subject I post on here about; nor is it "off limits" as far as I know providing we are not derogatory or personally about it's "characters" Whether it is I reading it or you, I wouldn't reckon that to be a "fixation"; in fact I found it so banal as to probably not bother lurking again for a little while.

Maybe I expressed myself badly. What I am saying is that the Colin Lee thread on dotnet has a healthy balance of views, the vast majority of which praise his efforts. I think you lose your objectivity when you get angry about things, and start seeing things that aren't there. I didn't see any "appalling personal attacks on Colin Lee". I doubt if he is a "pet project" for anyone and your final "I wonder why?" shows paranoia of almost Batesonesque proportions. It's a forum - it has a range of views. That really shouldn't bother you so much. Just let it go....
