I believe the man behind the 60s incarnation of the Junior Supporters' Club was a young lad called Ian Hayman who of course went on to be a director of the football club for many years and whose daughter Mel is currently a director.
I believe the young Ian got hold of the legendary Peter Cook and persuaded him to be the Junior Supporters' Club president.
