After a poor performance on Monday the players now need to pick themselves up and channel some of that Notts County form in our only other away game so far. If we keep 11 players on the pitch and don’t concede a few goals in the first five or 10 minutes then who knows what can be achieved?
Difficult to find any positives from the last game but at least we have Omar back from suspension. We seem to have a lot of half fit players all of a sudden, mainly in midfield with question marks over Hall, CLE, Andrews and Lapslie. It may be that they are slowly reaching some sort of fitness and Johnson will have a better feel on who can start.
At this point in time, I would agree that having two strikers up front is not working and after flogging Wright with 2 x 90 minute games in 48 hours, mainly with 10 men in the side then perhaps playing one striker akin to last year is a better option. If CLE is not ready to start then maybe trying Little in that role for 60 minutes with Hall and Lapslie providing the defensive base is the best way forward?
Maidenhead have had a mixed start, they started with a good win against Halifax on the opening day and cemented that with a regulation win over Dover before surprisingly losing against Weymouth and may be a typical mid table side with up and down performances. If we can avoid losing then will take that as something we can build on.

Just got in. No sign of Andrews, but three doubtful central midfielders all deemed fit to be named in the starting lineup. Let’s hope that does mean they are all actually fit enough to play! Lineup seems to be lacking in width and lacking in pace. Thought they might play as a diamond with Hall shielding the centre-backs and Lemon free to roam. Or we could just stick Lemon and Little out wide in a 4-4-2. Formations don’t win or lose matches, players do. I am fairly sure Maidenhead will be up for it. If we are too, we should have enough to at least match them. If we are not up for it, we risk another beating. That would set alarm bells ringing if it happened. It won’t though, will it?

Well well well.
Never mind the width, feel the quality. Who needs pace and width when you can play better than your opponents?
We have never really successfully fitted Lemonheigh-Evans and Little into a balanced lineup. We know they both possess quality so good to see them both proving it today.
Lapslie and Hall providing the solid base on which to build.
The players had a point to prove today. Good to see them so keen to prove it.

Oh dear. Two quick goals conceded.
If we defend like we did on Monday, we could still lose this!
