You would hope that England would win this game but football being football then anything can happen such as the referee disallowing a couple of your goals….

So far, so good, always nervous with just an one goal lead.

May be! It was '30 years of doubt' when that song was written. It is now 55 years. I am sure you would excuse me for not being absolutely certain. Denmark will be a different proposition in the semi-final, and if we do keep our shape and nerve and win through we will face in the final Spain or gli azzurri. A long way to go yet but good so far, and nice to have so many young players who should have several more tournaments left in them. ⚽️

Denmark will be a totally different prospect, they will driven by the will to win this for Ericksen. We haven't really played a good side yet, the Germans are a shadow of their great sides of the past.

We haven't really played a good side yet, the Germans are a shadow of their great sides of the past. The reason why we haven't played a good side is that we have played so well that the other teams have looked average. It's taken me a long time to realise this, but Southgate's tactics and team formations have been remarkable and what we have been missing for so many years. Sterling and Kane are currently the darlings of the media, but the true stars of this team are Rice and Phillips, whose combination, positional play and pressing have completely negated the efforts of all our opponents. Yes, I can see England winning this tournament if they repeat the performances so far, in fact I shall be surprised if they don't.

Nice one, stewart. We are indeed playing well and although without any ‘superstars’ (the two you mention are the nearest we have to that) he has created a squad culture to be proud of. Rice and Phillips have indeed been key components in our tournament success so far.
I agree, there is a fairytale element to the Danish progression that somewhat mirrors that of ‘92 when they won it having been drafted in as reserves when Yugoslavia had to withdraw. They are playing well, too. Neither side would be semi finalists if they weren’t.
Southgate will not underestimate any opposition and his side will play for their Manager and their teammates with pride, energy and application again. Those are the only certainties. For me, I reckon we will win or face the dreaded penalties. But I don’t think we will lose in normal or extra time. We are very hard to beat with a clean sheet record to illustrate.
