Whatever the Squad, atm the Bookies have these odds for the National League 2021/22 title :- Torquay United 9/1 bloody cheek ! More like 5/4 ON !! Then put your money in it while you've got good value. Bromley look good at 33/1.

More like 5/4 ON !! Notts County will get my bet now they have a decent CB! From whats I see happening to our squad I cant say I'm that optimistic.

Might be worth mentioning that of the 4 players yet to agree terms only Nemane is under 24.

How can you say that petef? To early to judge when we don't even know who GJ has lined up. You pessimism may be well founded but let's see who else goes and who comes in first.

Well Argyle and Bournemouth are two clubs who will be happy to do business with us again, that’s for sure. But each of those two players will be due a Football League club go either at their own club (Randell) or elsewhere (Sherring). And Sunderland, of course. We have the best manager we could possibly have to be competitive at the right end of the table again. In no doubt about that. Yes, it’s sad to see Cameron go to League rivals, but Notts County have the sort of money to attract someone on the rise like Cameron. And both have left early enabling our earliest possible focus on their replacement. My early prediction for 2021/2022 is TUFC as National League Champions. With Notts County second and missing out in the play-offs again. Wrexham 8th.

I think the bookies odds are fairly obvious. In many cases, a club like ours, who just miss out on the title, then lose the play-off final in such heartbreaking circumstances and see their squad decimated by departures, would unlikely challenge for the title the following season. I think we will more likely do a Wrexham 2012, where they finished on 98 points but lost the title to Fleetwood who had five more, but were then beaten by Luton in the play-offs. They have not got anywhere near promotion since.

Maybe.
That was their third play-off campaign in a row though so you can see how disheartening that was. If you want to look at another analogy then how about our play-off semi-final loss against Exeter, possibly my most gutting moment following Torquay after being ahead for so long. We managed to bounce back with promotion the following year but did have a play-off hangover for the first 10 games or so which effectively took us out of the title race, a bit like our injury blip this year.

I see Mansfield have signed two experienced league strikers in Hawkins and Johnson and as Reidy is likely to slip back down the pecking order I wonder if there is an opportunity to have him back, maybe on some kind of loan deal next year? Personally, and I know many would not agree, I would like to see Kimpioka back as think there is a player in there with a lot of raw potential that can be developed.

Would think Sunderland would want him getting a League club. Would certainly have Kimpioka back. And obviously Reidy if that ever were an option. Kimpioka is an absolute menace with his speed and power to any opposition defence. And is very recently off a long injury. He is above our level when on song and fully firing, in my view.
