We followed up the Spurs win with a league win at Wolves.
Well on the way to luring back the part-time supporters until Neil Warnock's Scarborough produced the most awful display of anti-football I have ever seen - enough to put all but the hardiest off football for life.
The ball was hoofed out of the ground at every opportunity. Cannot remember how they managed to score a 53rd minute winner, but assume they must have miscued one of their hoofs and accidentally put the ball in the net rather than over the stands and far away.
For years after this, any side hoofing the ball out of the ground would be met with jeers of Scarborough, Scarborough!
