If we do end the season as champions we will have done it the hard way and with the integrity of the league as a competition totally destroyed by the cancellation of relegation we will thoroughly deserve it.

Some teams at the bottom end seem to be putting members of their supporters clubs in the team to make up the numbers, judging by some of the ridiculous scorelines.

Wealdstone and Kings Lynn seem to be the worst although there are others.

We played both when they were putting out proper teams and we dropped points to both. Now though knowing that there is no relegation and so nothing to play for, they are putting out token teams just to fulfill the fixture.

Teams getting hit for 4, 5, 6, or even 7 is happening far too often for it to be credible. Kings Lynn has conceded 18 goals in the last 6 games. Wealdstone is even worse conceding 21 goals in the last 6.

Goal difference is quite likely to be a deciding factor at the top so this lack of interest and effort by these teams gives our promotion rivals who have played them recently or are due to play them a tremendous advantage.

Our next 4 games are against teams in the mix at the top, so if we win through we will certainly be worthy champions.

The league management board though should be hanging their heads in shame at the total lack of integrity their competition has as a result of their mis-management. ⚽️

"Integrity" or lack of it - that was the word I was looking for but we have to accept it as it is and hope we can come through even though we all know its wrong and not in the spirit of fair competition.

A pretty clear four horse race for the top spot.
In a few weeks time three sides will be disappointed and deflated.
One of those three will have to go through extra rounds in the playoffs.
We undoubtedly have the toughest run of fixtures against sides that have plenty to play for while others will be playing against sides who are thinking about their holidays but were in fear of relegation and previously more competitive.
Not going to be and easy watch I fear.
