After a superb run of seven wins from eight games we have a great chance going top of the league again and in fact, with Hartlepool not playing and Sutton playing later in the televised game against Eastleigh then a draw or win would see us go top however briefly,
A win against a good quality Notts County side will not be easy although they are inconsistent and after starting the month with wins against Wrexham and Woking have lost their last three games against Hartlepool, Solihull Moors and Eastleigh to fall outside the top 7. Their main keeper Slocombe is out injured but have got in an experienced keeper in Luke Steele to cover. Their defence has been good but they are not prolific scorers although came from behind to beat Woking at the start of month to win 4-2.
I don’t think anyone and I include Johnson in that who knows which 11 are going to start on Saturday. We seem to have a lot of players close to fitness in Wright, Cameron, Little, Nelson and Whitfield and possible doubts on the three substituted on Tuesday. Losing Wright is a big blow although Boden had what many would say is his best game for us on Tuesday. Good to see Warren playing again and gives us that extra cover in defence which is looking top notch.
I predict a close encounter but hope with that extra confidence from those recent wins we will edge it.

Potentially a very tough encounter and take no notice of their recent form, NC will be desperate to get back on track. Notts County, the sleeping giant of non league will see this one as a chance to get back into the mix and will play to win. It may leave spaces for us to capitalise on but I anticipate we will still be fielding a weakened side after yet even more casualties from the mid week game at Woking. A coupe of plusses for us were the fact Scott Bodin and Matt Buse looked to have lifted themselves a level or two. Bodin looking more like the player we had all hoped he would be. Garry Johnson simply cannot afford to play anyone with a knock or strain who he thinks is vulnerable to a along lay off and will be clearly aware that he may well need as many of his crack troops available for the play off competition lottery in a little under two months time. I have no doubt those available to play and picked to start will give 110% for the cause but that in itself is has been a big contributor to the problem. I believe we already have enough points to be in the last play off spot but its not where we want or need to be. It's apparent though that we will need to have many of those highly influential players ready and raring to go in what will be a highly competitive mini knock out competition.

link - in the Dave Thomas Torbay Weekly match preview mentioned that Kimpioka was almost ready to return which I missed in the OP. Worth keeping an eye on the bench to see who is back. A win today would be a magnificent effort considering all those who are out. Frustrating that with 4 games in the next 9 days we still have a huge injury list but quite a few may become available in that time.

Excellent 1st v 2nd game at Ashton Gate yesterday evening in Jon's "silly game". 🏉
Pulsating full blooded action throughout made one proud to be from the westcountry. It ended in a thoroughly deserved 20-12 away win for Exeter Chiefs at the ground of the Premiership leaders Bristol Bears.
The evening started with some gentle banter with my local licensee who has Notts County running through his veins, but who also has a soft spot for the Gulls having played for us 1979-1981. After a Doombar or two and not being permitted inside the pub it was off with friends to their house (fully legal support bubble of course) for a televisual feast of rugby.
A great start to the weekend and I cannot wait for more of the same this afternoon! ⚽️

Unchanged starting XI with Tomlinson a new impact sub option.
Could have been worse as Moxey, Andrews and Boden all fit.
No return for Cameron, Little, Wright, Whitfield or Kimpioka.
Will be tough to get the win with all those missing but fingers crossed.

Missing some quality on the pitch. Would like to see Tomlinson come on. Poor goal to concede but still in it

Panning out as I expected unfortunately. Hardworking but that's about it really against a decent side with much to gain. This isn't Woking. Very little happening up front without a target man or our dangerous offensive players. Hope we can get back into the game but I do feel we will need to change things up front and hope the likes of the new lad and maybe Umerah can cause more problems

Frustratingly just a little short in quality on paper and on grass.
Just a couple of those missing added in would have made a huge difference.
Decent shape and working hard, but have we got enough edge to get back into this?
Notts County look a decent enough side, but not an unbeatable one.
Could Tomlinson add that little bit of attacking spark we are missing?
Hoping we can get back into this but not overly confident.

Would be amazed if we get anything out of this now.
You could have guessed Ellis would score.
