I didn't plan to watch it but I did - it was done perfectly IMO . . . Some thoughts - I loved the Land Rover - my Toyota Hi Ace Vigo pick up has done similar duties I'm afraid Really good that no military uniforms were worn by the Family - that solved a few issues. Thank the Lord they gave the awful Elton John a miss this time. And no crawling around on the floor at all . . . . . . as seen elsewhere !
R.I.P. Sir.

I liked the sugar bowl...pure class. A little off topic Swatty, but are you on your Todd in Thailand, or are you a coal to Newcastle sort of person? 🤔 Setafano thinks I have a false passport (I used to have seven Irish passports...but that’s another story) and I’m on my way to meet up with you! Sadly, I have to quash those rumours because I’m persona non grata there! 🤨

A significant fact about this funeral was that only about a fifth of the UK population watched it on TV, despite all sporting events being shunted out of the way.
I caught a few seconds of it on a later news programme and wondered where on earth Charlie Boy got all his medals from. Which wars did he fight in?
The Queen has shown great devotion and endurance for so many years, can't disagree with that, but I am dreading the day when she passes away, as literally everything will probably grind to a halt for the following month. No sport, no choice of TV programmes, shops closing as a mark of respect, etc.
Then Charlie Boy will be king, an old man with some weird philosophies and no concept of what being a normal person entails.....

Won't be too long before the first direct descendant of King Charles II ascends to the throne, and indeed quite possibly could be within my life time. 👑

Certainly plainmoorpete. When King William V ascends to the throne following the death or abdication of his father King Charles III, he will become the first direct descendant of King Charles II. William's mother Diana is descended from King Charles II through two of his illegitimate children Henry Fitzroy and Charles Lennox, through her great-grandmothers Adelaide Seymour and Rosalind Bingham. William's mother was also a relative of Sir Winston Churchill through the Spencer-Churchill line of the family. At least Kate is a commoner to dilute all that Royal blood a bit! 😉

I saw it when I was there and I must admit I squirmed when they tried to outdo the local girls.

Reg I have no idea what you are chuntering on about. I am settled in a quiet coastal town with my Thai wife who speaks English and has a university degree. I spend my time bicycling, swimming, mountain walking and trying to avoid the Covid - we are in our third lockdown here now.
I suspect my life in Thailand is not what you imagine

I suspect my life in Thailand is not what you imagine In short: taking your English wife/girlfriend to Thailand and parading her in front of the locals girls, and thinking she was better than them...fat chance! Now I know you have a Thai wife, I’m aware you won’t be doing the above. Your life in Thailand sounds just as I would have liked to experience it, but sadly couldn’t. My time there took balls so big I could hardly move, so didn’t go far out of Bangkok!

Reg I still have no idea what you are chuntering about.
As for Bangkok, the only good thing about it is the Airport - Suvarnabhumi !!
BTW I omitted that my amusements in Thailand include, Nakhon Ratchasima FC, the 'Swatcats' who finished 9th in the Thai Premier this season just finished.
I caught the last game before lockdown 3, a few weeks ago - interestingly, when I started watching them 10 years ago, they were in the regional leagues, with crowds of 2000. They now hold the TPL record at 37,000 . . .

I always thought that you were somewhat fishy, and when I say fishy, I don’t mean the same sense of fishy I used to get every time I walked into that Ladyboy bar in Pat Pong! 🦶

Reg you pretend to be a real plonker.
If you hadn't had the Vax I would have blocked your posts full stop - but that action gave me hope that, whatever bluster you babble, you're not quite as daft as you try to be.
In passing, Croydon I know a little. Did some days in Lennig House and an hour or two in the Pub opposite and for many years worked in Forest Hill. Everybody knows Croydon unfortunately - what's the point ?
Now stick to the subject a little more please. End.

If this thread is going to be about Croydon now swatcat I could tell a tale or two! 😉
Back on track though I watched it and thought it was good. I did meet the man a couple of times and liked him. Behind the facade a lot of it must be quite boring so for an intelligent articulate man who could blame him for the odd quip or two to liven things up? 👍
