Although we have got nine points from the last four games we are still playing well below the level of the first third of the season but seeing Wright back and scoring will have given both players and fans alike a big boost. We now need to build upon this modest run particularly against the teams in the top half of the table which is almost a mini league of its own.
Wrexham are on a good run of form themselves being unbeaten in seven games before losing narrowly one nil away to Notts County on Good Friday, a run which has seen them get into the last play off position. By some accounts, they completely outplayed Notts in the first part of the game but crucially did not score, possibly due to their top scorer Kwame Thomas being ruled out injured for the remainder of the season further compounded by his replacement Jordan Ponticelli coming off with a hamstring injury after 28 minutes – a sight we are all too familiar with ourselves....
All of a sudden we have got a lot of players back and there is real competition just to make the match day squad and Johnson mentioned this in the yellow army podcast where he now has the means to rotate and rest certain players to keep the team fresh for the run in. The Hall substitution against Woking may be a case in point and Moxey does not need to be rushed back or played twice a week although his vision and passing adds something different to Law.
I suspect Wright and Kimpioka will be our main strike force for the rest of the season either as a pair or on their own once both are fully match fit as they make their way back from long term injury. Hopefully Andrews is now sufficiently recovered from illness to start on the left wing to balance the midfield as Little looks like a fish out of water there.
Happy Easter everyone and here’s hoping for three points on Monday. 😀🤞

RJD thanks for that and yes 3 points would be great - on current form it looks like we'll need the 'run of the ball' . . Stefano 5 goals ? Ouch ! Ah but then Maidenhead got 4 . . . Come on you Gulls !
Something like this 'run of the ball' would do - my team over here, Nakhon Ratchasima, (the Swatcats), away to Trat in the TPL on Dec 13th. Both teams fighting the drop, Trat played us off the park in the 1st half - 3-0 down half time.
A penalty for us in the 46th, their main man sent off in the 48th minute. Two more then sent off as Trat played with 8. Final score 3-4 lovely ! Followed by 7 wins in a row.
I wish the same fortune for the Gulls tonight. MMmmmm.

link - line up is out- Wright in for Boden is the big news. Andrews is still on the bench, would hope Kimpioka is on the wing as opposed to Little in a 4-4-1-1 formation.

Very surprised Wright seemed ok to start. But pleased. Please don’t put Kimpioka out of position. Could do with him getting his first goal and kicking on. Pity no Andrews/Little swap. Crying out for it.

After a run of games against very poor opposition yielded three wins out of four, we come up against a good team on good form.
The pessimist would say we will get badly found out, the optimist would say maybe Wrexham will drag us up to their level rather than Woking and co dragging us down to theirs.
I am worried that our lack of experience in the back four will get found out. Would have preferred to see Moxey or Warren in there.
I am worried that our midfield four lacks width, energy and direct attacking intent.
I am delighted Wright is back, but worried that desperation might be tempting us to hurry him back too quickly.
Maybe I just worry too much.
Three points would put a gap between us and Wrexham and see us looking upwards at the top three. A loss would see us starting to look at the results of Halifax, Eastleigh, Bromley, etc. as we try to hold on to a top seven spot.
Come on you Yellows!

I reckon Kimpioka will fill a wide role but given more of a a free fluid role to support Wright more like as Nemane has previously. His job description is winger or center forward. Wright must be feeling 100% but I doubt he will play the full 90. GJ persisting with Armani and certainly hoping he can find some improved form. We all know what hes capable of so lets hope so. Not a bad bench today with plenty of experience. Fancy a 0-0 draw - Wrexham without their main strike force and us who have struggled to hit the net in open play for the last three months. Wrights return is a big plus though and you never know.

The opening sequence and then the bloke striking up in Welsh had me worried for a minute. Looking good.

Could it be a return to 4-2-3-1? Looks like Randell on the right of a 4-4-2
