It has been a very busy week for me with significant family birthdays yesterday but the Easter weekend is finally here with two football matches to look forward to!
We certainly owe Woking one after their FA trophy win and that very very late equaliser being harshly chalked off for offside. Their team after seeing us playing them is not anything to be overly worried about and looks like they have a few injuries to contend with and of course they went down to Hereford last weekend putting in a poor performance and castigated by their fans.
We continue to have players coming back into the side with Wright and Warren being the latest two to play in a reserve match and they could well be available if only on the bench. Kimpioka looks a very good player so we have real competition up front now with the only area lacking being the quick wingmen of Whitfield and Nemane who are both thought to be more than two weeks away from recovery but Andrews and Randall at least have shown they can do a job there.
We need to go on a good run now for the last hectic two months of the season to consolidate a top three place and hopefully put pressure on Sutton if they slip up or get the promotion jitters or start to get injuries and fatigue like we did under Ling when using a similar small squad.

Well that is a toasted Hot Cross Bun out of the way for breakfast so it is now really feeling like Easter, and time for "I believe in Miracles". So decisive home wins for Boreham Wood today and Solihull Moors on Monday.
All we have to do is our bit, which will see our promotion prospects resurrected by Easter Monday! ⚽️

The under publicized FA Trophy semi final results (mainly through embarrassment to those concerned) from last weekend reveal that Woking were beaten 1 -0 by National League North Hereford managed by a former player of ours,Josh Gowling. A performance described by a Woking season ticket holder friend of mine as 'dreadful'
Meanwhile in the other tie AFC Hornchurch from the Ishmian Premier league drew 3 - 3 with Notts County after 90 mins with Hornchurch winning a penalty shootout 5 - 4 so therefore Hereford v AFC Hornchurch to Wembley. Well done both !!
A good win over Woking by us is long overdue

Would leave Law at left back, but would prefer to have Moxey or Warren left-centre-back to add some experience - although that may need to be saved for Monday when we will really need it.
Kimpioka has to start. I am sure he is capable of playing up front on his own, but I would much rather see him paired with Boden. That would give Kimpioka more license to roam. Wright coming off the bench to replace Boden for the last 15 minutes would be a bonus.

I do wonder what team will turn up today though with some extra firepower and threat in Kimpioka I'm really hoping he can be the catalyst to our recovery. Cant honestly see us recapturing our early season form with three or four of our key players missing but live in hope.. Pitch looking wonderful in the spring sunshine lets hope the game lives up to the hype, I expect Woking will be up for it despite their recent dip in form. No pressure and a very tough run in, we either do the business or fade away and soon the long summer days will be with us with other things to occupy our time and thoughts. A promotion bid in any form would be most welcome though.

Kimpioka and Boden up front, Wright on bench. Moxey and Andrews on bench. Narrow midfield with four central midfielders. Diamond perhaps? Need Lemonheigh-Evans and Little to be more forceful and mobile. Width needs to come from full-backs with Hall dropping deep to cover when needed.

Yep very "Little" wide left! Not a lot has changed the same format, no cutting edge and still struggling in and around the the opponents area. Kimpioka being the only real thorn in their side. Very little happening in the forward channels Law and Wynter doing their best but thye're not forward wide men who can run at defenders an take them on. Woking, as others have recently not having to work to hard to nullify any thing we throw at them. Also noticeable we have virtually no aerial threat at set pieces, Sherring always seems to miss time his runs and lopp headers wide or over. He needs to work on that part of his game - missing Cameron badly. Predictable really. Hopeful for better second half but from where I just don't know.

Great to see Danny Wright back on the pitch. I cheered in the living room. Little continues to lose possession more often than not.

You cannot sugar up that performance it was just awful in nearly every department. How the hell did we win that? Oh yes one good delivery and a split second of quality from Danny Wright. His second half cameo demonstrated what we've been missing and a different class than Boden who just continues to disappoint.
A very fortunate three points, we looked totally devoid of belief second half when we ran out of ideas and Woking just upped the anti.
Just joined the "Danny Wright Appreciation Society" or DWAS for short!

Think we will be a different proposition with Wright and Kimpioka up front than we have been.
I expect Boden will start with Kimpioka again on Monday with the change made as today as Wright gets his legs back.
I do really hope that Andrews is preferred to Little on the left. Little looked poor again today, sadly, and needs benching. Thought Law did ok on the left and Moxey may have to wait for his return. Not that Moxey would have been good for Friday/Monday yet, anyway.
I thought we looked ok in the first half and much better than them. But it was only Kimpioka who seemed to concern them particularly in the final third. Second half, we weren’t so fluent in the middle of the pitch, but were far less disjointed in the final third and crucially so, for that one particular chance.
Welcome back Danny Wright. We love you.
