Can anyone tell me what the circumstances of Eddie Kelly's departure were? I thought he just left because he was no longer fit to play, but this sounds like something more.

I was away at the time so unclear on some of the time lines. We started the season with Webb manager, Wilson assistant, Kelly coach and Sims just a player.

When Webb stood aside to concentrate on his role as MD, Sims leapfrogged Wilson and Kelly to the top job - not that it did him much good.

Did Wilson leave when Sims left or later? Pretty sure he had gone before Kelly.

Morgan did bring in Les Chappell as assistant, but was that at the start of the following season or is he going to turn up in February?

Interesting that Compton, Crabbe and Phillips are listed as players keen to help out. Crabbe and Phillips both the wrong side of 30 so might be expected to be looking to break into coaching. Compton was only 24. So was he one of those players who was passionate about going into coaching from an early age? Certainly had a great career in coaching and is well regarded in the game.
