Jeez Timbo - I really enjoy your programmes, but the middle of a pandemic might not be the best time to revisit the Webb era!

This was a shocker of a season, closely followed by 85/86 which was just as bad, and then 86 / 87 which was nearly as bad, but for the last 2 minutes.

Was the blue kit ever available to buy? Anyone buy a replica and still have it? I wish I had. At the tine I just didn’t want an old Chelsea kit. I can’t recall our away kit of this era?

I may have wiped this from my memory, but can’t recall how Webb eventually left the club. I remember John Sims’ short managerial reign at the start of the 85/86 season, but this was after Webb moved upstairs wasn’t it? Did Webb eventually leave with a pay off?

This was the season that I played in the primary school Bewley Cup final at Plainmoor. Our front line was more potent than Mooney and Laryea. I may have this wrong, but I think one of the grandstand fires occurred on the night after the final (sometime in May 85?)
