This is the first of the two matches that we have had to rearrange so far and in a compact season it is quite important to keep on top of this. You only have to look at the likes of Stockport and Eastleigh trialing on nine games to see that is quite some disadvantage. Points are king 👍
A bit unexpected to see Dagenham so near the relegation zone averaging a point per game and fair to say they are underperforming. Even the dangerous Paul McCallum, suspended on Saturday and scorer of many goals for Eastleigh a couple of seasons ago has only got two goals to his name.
I think Johnson is going to have to make a few changes with Hall now suspended and Sherring, himself filling in for Wynter looking like he is injured, not helped by continuing to play on after falling awkwardly on his ankle. I remember CLE doing this last year and consequently was out for some time. Hopefully not as bad in this case as CLE took a nasty tackle back then and probably a worse injury.
Personally, I would bring in Buse at right back and partner Waters with Wright up front and have a 4-4-2 formation leaving Randall and CLE in the middle. If Moxey is fit then I suppose you could play Andrews in the middle but suspect that is unlikely. Little should be back on the subs bench and could well get a run out.
Finally, with no away fans at the ground, home advantage is actually quite a big thing now and possibly contributed to Hall’s incorrect sending off yesterday. Love sitting in Bristow’s Bench and hearing the home fans using the away end acoustics. 😀

link - United have lost the appeal against the red card. Pity, while I agree with what Johnson is saying on the other side do not think it was clear cut enough to be overturned....

No games on the Saturdays either side of this so think there will be a better response than we had last Tuesday. COYY!

Really hope the team get the crowd they deserve but we're still far from out of the woods and many will still be ultra cautious.
Another tough encounter with plenty more on the horizon. I see the Xmas/New Year period as crucial and Yeovil in particular will be wanting to get one over on us as they did twice quite convincingly last season. Irrelevant how they've started things are sure to turn in their favor just as Chesterfield have suddenly found their feet after a difficult start. Both ex Football League clubs with high expectations and more talent in their ranks than their form suggests. Saturdays match, a game we could quite easily have lost, was a clear indication that any team can lift their game and threaten our run and D&R will be no different.
Concerned we are picking up so many knocks and injuries and unable to give a breather to one or two who have put so much into this congested opening two and a half months. Not sure what to expect from D&G will be encouraged by what they saw on Saturday at Kings Lynn who got at and through us more than any team has to date.
Need some players back as it looks like the back line in particular will be in for another shuffle of the pack with Sherring doubtful. No Asa Hall it seems even though GJ is set to appeal after that ridiculous sending off so yet another change in the middle. I very much doubt a straight red will be overturned, they rarely are, we just have to expect poor decisions from time to time and get on with it but when you watch it back it makes you wonder what the ref saw.
I will be streaming again at home in the warm with my 78 year old friend and former work colleague.
No doubt cheering and shouting at the computer screen again as my family look on in bewilderment!

Match day, showers forecast this morning but dying out this afternoon and should be dry and mild tonight with a southerly breeze. So, much better match conditions and hopefully Johnson will be able to see “his game.” Coyy

Should we not win this game tonight, could we not have...I would have taken that before the match started, or, considering what happened to the Shite Hawk on Bristows Bench tonight I think we did very well!
What that boils down to is someone saying they would prefer to sha& Fergie rather than Taylor Swift! 🧐

Bring your own hot drink - makes sense, sitting in the cold with no beverage for a couple of hours is not much fun and may entice a few more to turn up.

Notts County v Stockport on BT sport tonight. Draw would suit us well.

Getting a bit thin on numbers again.
Expect Little to get a run from bench but not start.
If Sherring out and no other returners, we could see Owen Price on the bench.
Lemonheigh-Evans dropping back to replace Hall is a possibility. The other is to bring Warren in, move Kerr or Cameron to full back and Buse or Andrews to centre midfield.
If any one of Sherring, Wynter or Moxey is fit, you could do the same while leaving Warren on the bench.

So Important we get players like Little back soon. Our two loan players Randell and Sherring may well be going back to their parent clubs at some point fairly soon. Little would appear to be Randell's natural replacement if that's the case then Kerr or Warren would be natural choices for Sherring. Both have been brilliant for us but sadly neither are our players and will return to their clubs at some point. Frustrating for Armani we all know his qualities and what he can bring but needs to be 100% before he enters this hectic season with heavy pitches and against players who are well up to speed. Could be an odd looking line up tonight with another new combination trying to keep the ball rolling. Fortunately I don't see too many weak links in the entire squad and hopefully we will have enough in reserve to do the business but unless a few are getting close to returns GJ may well have to dip into the loan market again.
Would hope the likes of Whitfield, Nemanee, CLE etc are given the day off on Saturday just to recharge the batteries for the all important hectic holiday fixtures that are sure to be tough encounters.

Buse and Warren come in for Hall and Sherring. Not sure whether that is 4-4-1-1 or 3-5-1-1 - link
