Last match seen 29 February, next match seen 1 September - so exactly six full calendar months with no football.
Good to be back and impressed as always by the facilities and the welcome on offer at Homers Heath.
Crowd of 153 felt enough to be a crowd, but few enough to not feel compromised on social distancing.
A very well contested game between two decent sides. Buckland took the lead early on through a screamer from Austen Booth - who was at Truro when they used to play at Plainmoor and has played a few times for TUFC in friendlies.
Goal came during a furious end to end start to the match when Buckland regularly looked like scoring and conceding, but the game then settled into more of a midfield battle with both sides playing 4-3-3 which could become 4-5-1.
Man of the match Nick Rudge put in one Maradona-like run but pulled his final shot wide.
It always felt that Buckland needed a second and it was no surprise when their failure to deliver one led to a late equaliser.
No extra time - straight to penalties. All very well taken with the Bitton keeper diving to his right to make a fine save from sub Will Hancox, formerly of this parish. Chelston will be outraged to hear that Buckland did not get to take their fifth penalty.
Frustrating result. Not sure about the formation. Three central midfielders all decent players, but I felt that it would have been better to have one focused on shielding the centre-backs - who looked vulnerable - and one on getting forward more to support centre-forward Bush who ploughed a lonely furrow and was left isolated up front.
