Todays Herald suggests that we are still trying to get Zebroski.
"It remains to be seen whether League One Millwall, who let Zebroski out on a season-long loan in 2007-2008, will be prepared to let him go permanently. But I understand that the Gulls are still interested in signing the Swindon-born forward, who scored 19 goals last winter.
Lions manager Kenny Jackett, who took over at the New Den midway through last season, never got a chance to assess Zebroski for himself.
So he may try to put off a firm decision until after the start of pre-season training."
Could he be coming back?

Well Jim, if I'm honest, not sure I would really want him back. Yes I know he worked hard, had a good attitude, but I don't really rate him as a player.
So often a poor first touch, so often giving the ball away far to easily and so often unable to beat his man.
In my view he often looked like he simply didn't know what to do with the ball, when it was at his feet. I'm sure many won't agree with my views, but I really feel we can do better.

I know what you mean Dave. Never quite sure what he was going to do with the ball (him and me!) Always looked like he was going to fall over. That being said he scored 19 or so, some vital, goals for us last season. The question is..........would you have in your team or not? Makes me wonder where he would play? Apparently played left wing but looked more like a third forward.

I did like the lad, but as I said I would really have to question, just how good a footballer he was. I do wonder as well what lee Hodges thinks of him.
They could be old mates, or he could feel that Zeb's was to blame etc, so that would not be a good start to a happy dressing room ;D ;D

I think we all have to remain aware that CZ is still a young, emerging talent who will make mistakes, show misjudgement (on and off the field) but is capable of doing wonderful things at unexpected moments and is thus a match winner. Nothing would please me more this close season than to see his immediate future secured with a contract to stay at Plainmoor and to witness his continued emergence as a possible big star of the future. We have to allow a little inconsistency from youthful players and only really have the right to see that inconsistency gradually eradicate itself from their game over a period of time. For a club at OUR level, it is inevitable that such young, and therefore inconsistent talent; gets it's head far earlier than at so called more "senior clubs"

Zebroski would be a great signing. Personally, I thought that only him and Stevens were really prepared to take defenders on last season. He also gets into positions to score goals and he was regularly involved in build up play for others to score last season. I do believe he showed inconsistency last season but he is still young and in my opinion he was very good at this level and will be next season if he comes.

Some good points and ones Most would agree with, I simply feel that if he is, to turn into a great player, can we really wait another season to see his best. I believe we need to put together a team that will stand the very best chance of going up next season and don't think Zebs came give us all we need to do that at this time.

Looks like he is off to Wycombe. They have announced that a fee has been agreed with Milwall.

Well we do know that he gave is all and did wear our shirt proudly and can only leave with good wishes for his future. He did simply lose his way after Xmas and sadly was not the same player, and like most I really want us to get back into the football league, just feel that unless his game improved a great deal, he would not offer what I feel is needed. In saying that you watch him score 25 goals next season, but I will eat my words if he does

Wycombe MAY have had an offer accepted by Millwall, but surely IF Zebs didn't want to go to Wycombe, etc, etc. The bottom line is that the player will make the final decision on where he believes his future lies!! (Keep crossing your fingers that it's US he chooses)!!!

I agree with you one hundred per cent Kev! After all, Zebs has obviously turned down one contract offer already................that of Millwall's. ................and if I were him, I would be very wary of playing for a manager like Peter Taylor; who it appears has lost the plot regards management with successive disasters with Palace and Stevenage in the one season, relegation at Leicester despite blowing £23 million, and departing Brighton and Gillingham in little over a year in each case leaving them and the players he signed high and dry. Would you trust your career to someone like that? You go to Wycombe to play for him and he's likely to either bugger off somewhere else or get fired within a year! "Come home" Chris...............you know it makes sense.

In all fairness to Peter Taylor he might as well have taken over the crew of the Titanic such was the mass exodus of Stevenage players mid season. He was definately on a loser there. Having said that I would agree that Taylor is not necessarily a manager that Zebroski would get on with. I think that putting some of Zebs off field antics down as "misjudgements" as he is young is being kind to say the least. But I will say as far as being on the fiield is concerned I thought he was a real credit last season. I could never see that his form actually dipped as much as people kept saying. Probably Buckles first name on the team sheet every week and quite rightly so in my book.
