link- New signing - striker Josh Umerah from Ebbsfleet- welcome- link - you can see the two goals that Josh scored against us here. First was running onto a cross and slotting home in the area. Second was a header, holding off our defender to get in front of him to glance home. In a poor side last year after being released from Charlton but brings our strike force up to four and just coming into his prime and can see him being in a Johnson team but likely as back up if Wright or Nelson are injured.

Nice to watch a game with supporters cheering from the terraces! Thought we looked good that night - passed the ball well and really looked threatening with Kalala taking the p**s. New lad looks to have potential that hasn't been fully realised hope GJ can work his magic. Surprised we have added again but we did need that forward cover. Very strong looking player, a different kettle of fish to Kalvin Kalala who I think we will miss, or I will anyway. On his game as good as you will see at this level but typically inconsistent for his type. An option from the bench or as cover for injuries but will want to be forcing his way in a stater for sure.
There will be no "gimme's" in this division and it will be tough to challenge at the top, its looking stronger than it ever has with many ex league clubs bigger than us desperate to get back to the football league.

We actually now have a squad of 25! Despite Johnson initially being happy at 20. However, Davis and Little are out longer than anticipated, Kerr and Warren have picked up at injurIes and no sign of Price or Evans which would have brought us back to 14 without those five additions with Moxey suspended for the first 3 games so guessing only 18 available with Slough and Nelson either injured or likely not making the cut.
Keepers - Macdonald. Covalan
Defenders - Wynter.Davis.Cameron.Slough, Price, Warren, Kerr, Moxey, Sherring. (Loan)
Midfielders- Whitfield. Hall Nemane, Buse,Andrews and Little, CLE, Evans, Randell (Loan)
Strikers - Koszela, Wright, Nelson, Umerah, Britton (loan)

link - looks like the Plymouth manager sees Randell as the perfect fit for us. After getting in Tyrese Fornah, a similar player from Nottingham Forest on a season long loan, there was space to loan him out to get some first team experience. Lots of interest from league 2 clubs but only as a squad player. Sounds like there is scope to extend the loan if it works out for both parties.

Bit of an injury update from Johnson on the Yellow Army podcast, Kerr and Warren are now both fit again although sounds like Kerr may need a bit more time to get fully fit and maybe subs bench only for now. Nelson has hyper extended his knee and will be out for a few weeks.

link -JJ Evans is out on loan to Buckland as he is now over his preseason injury but needs matches to get fit and also used to men’s football. I thought at first it was quite a low level but he needed somewhere local as not yet driving!

link- in addition to Johnson been able to field his strongest bench so far sounds like Nelson, Kerr and Little are getting close which gives the option of rotation and managing players within a game. Thought we made Bromley look off the pace in the second half and seems the team ran further and faster through the game which really opened up all that space later on in the match.

Very interested to see what our strongest line up will be when everyone is fit..particularly up front. Think a lot will depend on how Nelson fits in.

Have to say I think Olaf needs some time at a level below to build his confidence. Hasn't yet showed enough to warrant a start IMHO and needs more pitch time to get wise to defenders at a higher level. Reckon GJ probably feels the same when Britton, a player of similar age starts ahead of him. Needs to make a mark in the next year or at least show signs he is capable and ready to mix it at this level or higher. I don't see him terorrising any defences just yet. Many before him have shown much promise, the Ashley Yeoman's, David Bing's, Troy Douglins etc..

Completely agree that he needs to get some match experience at a lower level which is what our three loanees are doing to good effect. He is actually a year younger than Britton which for a teenager makes a fair bit of difference. Once Nelson is back fit then maybe a stint at NLS or the Southern League would be advantageous for his development as had a good pre season and needs to continue to kick on from there.
