“”Wrexham have broken their transfer record to sign striker Ollie Palmer from League One AFC Wimbledon. Palmer drops down into the National League with the ambitious Welsh club having paid £300,000 for the 30-year-old.” Blimey…. 3 1/2 year contract… Scored the winner on his debut ⚽️

Now that the transfer window has closed perhaps we can pick up a couple of loan signings. It looks like we desperately need a striker.

Am reading elsewhere that Byron Moore has left and that we have a midfielder on trial.

Also Gabby Rogers has gone out on loan to the end of the season with Plymouth Parkway although there is a 28 day recall clause which may be something to also think about in respect of our two loanees.

Am reading elsewhere that Byron Moore has left and that we have a midfielder on trial. What a complete waste of a loan space 😡 Don't think he was a loanee, he was actually given a contract. Talking about complete wastes of space Manny Duku has rocked up at Havant & Waterlooville.

Gary Johnson has confirmed on the inside Plainmoor interview that Moore has left. Two months ago that he got crocked early on at Weymouth and was forced to hobble around until half-time. I thought at the time that would put him out for weeks but not forever.

Sad news...looked like a good signing at the time. Hope we bring in new players soon.. rather than hobbling along till the end of the season.

Priority for me is to ensure we secure the players we know are up to it for next seasons challenge and identify and target players to fill the weaker areas. Not concerned about BM I don't believe his heart was in it from the start so best we have parted. Players that "don't fit" - better to find out now than persist in hope. Of course It would be good to have a strong second half of the season but realistically we all know there are are a number of teams well ahead of us in quality in the top half. We have to make sure any player signed is good enough, pointless signing players for the sake of a forlorn play off push unless they are worthy of a starting spot on day one of next season. I personally don't want to see another exodus of talent and a glut of rushed signings we saw last summer. With our limited resources compared to many we have to be shrewd, clever and patient in the transfer market. GJ certainly realises this and I'm certain he'll be working towards building a stronger squad for next season within the clubs means.
