Was there any reason why Torquay could not play in yellow today against Weymouth. There was no colour clash on shorts shirt or socks. I don't like them playing in that gopping white shirt and blue shorts. We play in blue and yellow and should try and stick to it on every occasion. I expect there is some FA rule or perhaps club policy that deems our away kit should be different but I don't like it.

Not sure of any reason Sam, I would have prefered our home strip, would be interesting to know the reasons why, there has to be one, but like you say it could have nothing to do with a clash of kits today.

Was there any reason why Torquay could not play in yellow today against Weymouth. Laundry logistics, two games in three days? No, I do believe the team and management have decided to adopt an "away day mentality" (as have so many clubs these days) and white and blue is a very part of that identity. The idealistic would say it is "mind games", the cynical would say it is marketing of the "away" kit; whilst old buggers like you and I Sam would say it is total bollocks but if it works in the minds of the players and they accrue the points - they can turn out in sky blue pink for all I care! Whatever, white and blue is the preferred choice of the management and team this season.

What is the away day mentality merse, I would think for many teams it means going into a game and trying not to lose away from home. While the home day mentality would be to make sure of a win, so I think I'll stick with the washing theory.

What is the away day mentality merse, Mental preparation: focus, single mindedness, "going into the lions' den", gaining the upper hand from the first whistle, silencing the crowd, shutting out the uncomfortable like piss poor dressing rooms. Entering the ring like gladiators (as in boxing) turning up dressed for work (travel tracksuits, leisure shirts and trainers) AND the dedicated away day kit.....................when all this is in kilter, we are a mighty force - don't knock it! Men on the road=men on a mission!
