It was a disappointing loss at Plainmoor in the reverse fixture as our injury crisis went from bad to worse with Frank Vincent going off injured in that game as we went down to a 2-1 home defeat and then into virtual free fall for the next couple of months.
We are now fourth in the 6 game form guide after our two recent home wins which included Halifax who top this form table having won their other five. Sutton on the other hand, have just won once in the last six but with a lot of draws thrown in. They lost against, you guessed it, Halifax on Tuesday to a late penalty and hopefully the heavy pitch and long journey will have taken its toll! Another win will see us in the midst of the play off contenders and it is crucial we get points on the road if we are to get back into the top seven.
Johnson seems to have found a winning formula with the three central defenders and wingbacks, Reid and Azeez seem to be forming a good partnership upfront and while there were a few misses, the important aspect is that they are creating chances. CLE was taken off as a precaution on Saturday, hopefully he has had no reaction and will be fit but Vincent is hopefully ready to cover and there would be a degree of symmetry if he did return in this game.

The story of our season - Consistently Inconsistent though I don't believe we have looked convincing particularly as an attacking force of late and today we didn't defend well, a recipe for defeat if ever there was one. Physically out muscled again by the sound of it. That surely has to be addressed at some point before we enter next season. GJ doesnt sound too happy either. I'm a realist these days and knew long ago we're nowhere near good enough to stretch out the season in the play offs or get out of this division. Some difficult games coming up and potentially bigger tests than today. Still seems very tight down in the lower half of the table all scrambling to avoid the bottom four and few points between quite a number teams and wouldn't be at all surprised if 52 or more points was the tipping point.
Season over for me and expect home attendances to drop of a little with little to play for. Safety shouldn't be an issue now, surely we have just about done enough.

Poor result imo but you could see it coming.
Let’s get to safety and rebuild (if Clarke’s funding will support) for next season 👍

That was painful viewing. Good free kick goal from them followed shortly by a couple of not so good ones from Jake Andrews, who appears to be carrying some additional weight. He has always been ‘stocky’, but really needs to work on that if he is going to progress. The knife through butter ending in a ball through MacDonald’s legs for the goal was woeful. I hope Covolan is over his knock soon, not that MacDonald is responsible for the breakdown (that was good by Sutton) and the parting of the Red Sea in response.(that was bad from us)

Thought Andrews was looking a bit fitter after the mid season break so disappointing if he has gone backwards again.
