For those of you old enough to remember, Racing Cars will perform their last gig on 11th April 2009 at the Parc and Dare in Treorchy.
Morty lives in the local area and has continued to perform in the clubs but they are calling it a day for Racing Cars.
The only hit they had was "They shoot horses don't they" in 1976. goodness, that seems a lifetime ago

I nearly misread your post Stuart, well we do talk stockcars on here at times I bet old Merse has wanted to shoot the odd or two, I was hoping to meet him at the game today, but I think he was up in those high seats again ;D

I'm sure Dave "Diddy" Hamilton played your tunes Did you guest appear in Nottyash? I knew I should never have been a milkman, I was six foot three when I started that job. Sadly up and down all the steps we have in the Bay wore me down to my now five foot four. If I had not stopped the milk when I did, I knew that it would be the circus I ended up working at. Still keeps you boys happy making the small jokes about Dave, who really is such a big man, well inside anyway

Stuartb,
"They Shoot Horses Don't They" was indeed a classic song but the only one by Racing Cars I ever heard so I wouldn't go far to see their last gig! It often surprises me how long some of the 'one hit wonder' acts keep going and the size of audience they must attract.

ricardo a lot of acts just love to perform and while they would really want to play the top gigs, they often end up playing small halls etc. If its in you to preform it really does not matter so much how big the audience is, only that you get to play and sing and hopefully get the applause at the end
