'And of course the ‘old head’ is as important as anything else at this time'So there you are folks. At this particular time nothing ranks above experience in Gary's priorities as far as bringing players in. And just to re-emphasise the point, 'I felt we needed some more experience in our team at the moment'
Looks like a good signing on paper. Now a matter of waiting to see what Lloyd can do out on the grass. link - Lloyd James signs from Forest Green

And so it begins...50/1 odds now...only a fool would miss putting a few quid on that. I thought Yellow was an awful colour to play in, but that bloody Lime Green!

Really pleased with this signing. Exactly what we need - an experienced head. Throwing young kids like Medford-Smith and Bansal-McNulty in to a struggling side is not good for them or for us.
Before the season started, I would have marked down Asa Hall as a player we could not do without for more than a couple of games. Buse did an incredible job alongside Vincent which successfully covered the crack. Since Vincent has been out, we have been asking far too much of Buse and the unfair pressure has told on him in his first season as a full-time pro.
You could understand the desperation to get Hall back, but rushing him back when he was not match-fit seemed a huge risk and and we have paid the price for that.
James now fits the bill perfectly as leader and midfield enforcer. Geography not an issue for him as he had two years at Exeter. Would imagine that a decent first few games would see both sides seeing an 18-month deal as a good idea.
Where would that leave Hall? James would be doing "his job". Don't think they would work as a pair.
Dave Thomas was shouting about Hall as a possible centre-back before the season began. I thought not for the simple reason that we could not spare him from midfield.
We could do with an experienced centre-back and difficult to lure seasoned pros to this part of the world.
If James does stay, we could very well see a fit-again Hall slotted in at centre-back. If he does well, and he has the attributes to do so, that could be the best way for Hall to get a contract extension and could add a couple of years to his professional career.
