apparently MPs are up in arms about channel 4 showing an alternative to the Queen's speech. Ahmedinejad, Iranian leader, called for peace.
they are up in arms because he has often voiced his anti-gay opinions. well didn't a certain Pope Benedict do the same this week??? but had little opposition apart from Gay rights Groups.

I'm not a political person but I do love the royal family and all the real true traditions this country has. My view is we should only have one speech on Christmas day and that should come from the Queen and no one else.

Does anybody really care what the Queen says anyway?
Apparently, according to the news, she mentioned the fact that this year had been hard for many people with the credit crunch - wonder if she had cut back on anything this year!
Not much time for the royal family I'm afraid

Thats fair enough Scott, sadly more and more people seem to have lost time for our royal family. Does it really matter what she has to say? I have grown up with having the queen make her speech on Christmas day, I see no reason why I would want to break with that tradition.

The Royals are quality, I personally reckon the two princes rock. BUT the Queens speech as good as it might be is only hot air, what ever she comes up with has to be o.k.ed by the House Of Lards( that is not a typo) before it can be put in practice and they Pooh-Pooh just about everything. Loads of people are anti-royalists, I think they should be ousting the Lords before they even consider the Monarchy. Its the structure of the country that is wrong not the figure heads!
