Saturday will be a trip down memory lane for George Edwards who was a director of Chorley from 2000 to 2006.
He worked alongside Chorley's current Chairman Ken Wright.
On the face of it, this was not the best period in the club's history with regular mid-table finishes in the second tier of the Northern Premier League (which effectively dropped a level in 2004 when Conference North was formed).

The massively wealthy Trevor Hemmings - who now owns Preston North End - had thrown a lot of money at the club in the 90s trying to regain the Conference status held for two seasons 1988-90.
It looks like he wrote off £732k of loans, but massively scaled down his financial input leaving Edwards to balance the books.
So if you look at financial results and football results together (not many football fans do!), you get a better measure of actual achievement.
Steadying a leaking ship does not draw many plaudits, but is a tougher ask than some give credit for.
Moving forward to more recent times, it was a massive achievement for Chorley to win promotion from a National League North packed with bigger clubs. It would be another massive achievement to survive in the National League.
Chorley is a "proper club" with a great history. Lancashire League from 1894 and twice champions of that very strong league before Mr Luscombe and co founded the mighty TUFC in 1899. Good luck to them - after we have stuffed them on Saturday of course.
