Shocking scenes in Bulgaria last night during England’s qualifying match and sad that this is still happening during 2019. Hopefully the appropriate action will be taken to send an unequivocal message that this is not acceptable.

Just awful but even more worrying was seeing the young and old right wing fascist extremists wander out of the stadium all in black with many trying to conceal their identities while the more moderate Bulgarians watched on passively. As much as the perpetrators were in the wrong so to were those that looked on and said or did nothing. A sad reflection on society in many parts of Europe these days. Right wing extremism seems to be rearing its ugly head all over the place with division and hatred fed by irresponsible leaders.
I fear where it will lead, we all need to be on our guard because its also happening here. It must be stamped on hard. Give them an inch and they will take a mile. We shouldn't only be looking at the problem of extremist racism in sport but in all of society - that always be at the root of the problem.

A fair point and Register should retract and delete his latest generalised offensive remarks.

Register is more than welcome to amend or delete his post but in this instance I will change it slightly. The thread was started to highlight the appalling racism shown by some Bulgarian fans at a football match. I think it can be agreed as stated by Register that those perpetrators at Yeovil should have been arrested. Raising the possibility that these are of Bulgarian nationality at another football racism incident just a few days after the England game is IMO an acceptable comment but I strongly disagree with the term “Probably” as it is actually very unlikely
Also, as far as I am aware the vast majority of Bulgarians in the UK are actually working and contributing to our society and it is very likely they will be able to apply for settled status very shortly so implying that they are here taking full advantage of the benefit system is not acceptable.

Absolutely. During my Italian days working it was a privelege to work with hard working Bulgarians and Romanians. It may surprise some but I am still working which is on a self employed basis doing jobs for insurance companies. During the course of that work I come across many Eastern Europeans. They are almost without exception pleasant, polite, and hard working individuals who have bothered to learn our language and are most certainly contributing to our country. When I say 'almost' in the previous sentence that is of coursae how it is throughout the world, we have some English shits as well!

The words Arse . Racist . Bite come to mind...though not necessarily in that order. One of my Border Collies is called Karma...great story-too long. She is forever looking around corners and imaging things that aren't there. There are long lines of Grey Mindless people walking around with pots of glue in their hands, sticking themselves to anything and everything! To cheer yourself up, I suggest you buy some more glue, and get back in one of those lines!

In recent posts on another thread you have referred to Jews as teabags and bragged about your part in the Rhodesian war. If it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck it probably is a f**k**g duck. One thing I do know is you are no f**k**g Buddhist.

Talking about having a life and actually living it is now wrong! Being a Buddhist who's opinions differ from yours is now wrong! Still, if you wish to 'stick' with this nonsense, I'm sure it will keep others amused! Oh, and surely you know that resorting to swearing is straight off the playground!

A sensible post and one pointing out the wrongs of negative stereotyping that Register decided again to deliberately cause offence with. That he is unrepentant and has chosen to highjack the thread with reference to reaction to his remarks only reflects badly on him and certainly not either Pete or anyone else contributing to this thread. I suspect discussion on yesterday’s events are best held away from here, sadly. I was pleased that both sets of players were in agreement that the game had run it’s course after the abuse and bottle throwing.

Goodness me Rob, you do put a smile on my face in the morning...and it's been a while since I've said that! 'I suspect discussion on yesterdays events are best held away from here...is Reg really the Great Grandson of Kim Philby?' Nothing more than a subconscious (for those of you who do crosswords and the ilk, you will know how powerful the subconscious is) act to drum up discussion!
