Although Chesterfield are at the bottom of the league, their squad is not reflective of this and they will be desperate to get their first win of the season on the board. Having said that, if we can get off to a good start, then no doubt their fans will be on their backs (like Owers for us a year ago!) and every team is going to have a crisis of confidence getting to mid September without winning a game!
I’ve posted elsewhere an update on our injuries with the pinch point being in central midfield. Thankfully this is also our strongest area and Johnson was able to field Lewis and Andrews with Vincent just in front of them. Although Dickson did well for the last half an hour against Harrogate, he is not fit enough for a full 90 minutes and looking at how he was used in a similar situation last season, I can only see him being a second-half substitute. Whether Little will be back into the side remains to be seen.
Hopefully Kalala will be able to get a start and struct his stuff and prove that he is currently more than a impact substitution. Whitfield is nailed on to start on the other wing along with Reid upfront.

Been to Chesterfield a few times, nice fans, nice ground and nice experience.
You do wonder how such a well supported club can be floundering at the bottom of this league in the first place!
Sign of the times sadly, 99.99% of the dosh goes to the feeders at the top of the pond basking in the sunshine, whilst clubs like us and Chesterfield snuffle about at the bottom of the pond searching for a nice piece of raw sewage to eat while bumping into each other in the darkness!

I'm sure that Jon, with his impeccable memory, will be able to confirm what happened back in the day. Perhaps whatever it was has come back to bite them in the ass?

I can't recall the circumstances, but weren't they described as Cheaterfield on this site some years ago as a result of some financial improprieties? Discussed here: torquayfansforum.co.uk/thread/5041/totnes-1960-herald-cup-final2001. They lodged fraudulent paperwork at a transfer tribunal to sign Luke Beckett at a bargain fee - defrauding Chester. Beckett's goals got then promoted despite a nine point deduction. A classic case of cheats prospering. Mike Bateson led the campaign to have them thrown out of the league. He wanted Barnet, who we had sent down, reprieved.

Jon has kindly sorted out your query Stewert, and it shows that some cheats don't prosper and some do! The club down the road from us ripped off most of the businesses in the Westcountry, and are doing very nicely thank you!

link - looks like Andrew is now out injured with Dickson having to start. Very young and inexperienced bench. Buse likely to get a good run out in the second half.

Have we had a shot on goal? Can’t recall one. Sounded totally devoid of any invention.

A pity that all those injuries have stymied us. With a bit of luck we should have a few back next week.

Seen it all before when we play the bottom team, huffed and puffed all game and give away a soft goal ! Still hearing UK Subs played at half time was a first for me at a game !
