The pre-season games are now starting to draw to a close with just the Exeter game after this match and to this end I think Johnson will be playing a strong line up very similar to the Plymouth game but would like to see Covolan start if over his neck injury.
Although this is only their under 23 squad we know from the comparable Bristol game a year ago that there is a lot of talent to watch out for in these teams with Edwards scoring two and Andrews one and coming close to another in their 1-3 win. Baldwin is another that has been subject to speculation he will be joining us to beef up our defence and he also started that day with Janneh coming on as a substitute and almost scoring as well.
So this should be a good game and hopefully the difference between a relegated team last year and a promoted one this year will have a more favourable result. This will be the only PSF game I will miss due to spending a couple of days walking East to West across Dartmoor so any thoughts greatly appreciated.

link - Devon Live reporting that Covolan may get some game time tonight with only Davis and Dickson definitely out injured. Johnson also hinting that you never know what may come out of this game with a possible loan signing.

Looks like Buse is at right back with Wynter at centre back leaving Hall in the middle.
Bit of a worry that Niate is not fit and Covolan still not on the bench.
On the plus side we are 2-0 up with Hall knocking in a rebound from a Reid shot and that man Little scoring from yet another free kick!

Andrews on for Duku with Keating up front. Good start from Swansea.

Penalty from Swansea to make it 3-1 after poor challenge from Asa. Stone wall penalty from Keating turned down and then Keating heads narrowly wide of the far post

Ends 3-2 to Torquay. Reid harshly flagged for offside after scoring. Keating did very well up front,
Won every game so far!

A very agriculture approach to a friendly by Swansea, who I thought in the main were poor.
Very good up front but all at sorts at the back with most playing out of position.
First XI will walk this league but we are at the moment very, very low on quality and numbers for the bench.
I see in today's HE "Johnson waits on news of Bristol City loan stars" and that he was casting his eye of some of the Swansea U23 with a view to loanees, not many took my eye.

My first look at the squad last night. A fairly low key affair as you would expect but still lively enough to be entertaining and with some patches of quality. Little's free kick being among the highlights. Good to see that our work rate, concentration and organisation were pretty good with one or two still needing to get up to speed. Of the new faces obviously Little stole the show. Buse looked a bit suspect against a lively winger until he clobbered him late on. Ben Wynter is a way ahead and had an assured game rarely putting a foot wrong in central defence - my MOM. Duku also needs more games under his belt to get up to speed not quite at the races and would expect a bit more from him though came off at HT and may have been carrying a knock. No sign again of Covalan but Mac Donald will be hard to shift and looked confident and assured. Frankie Vincent another worth a mention got up and down the pitch well and very good on the ball always looking for the right pass. Flashes of brilliance from Kalala as per usual alway looking to lay it on a plate for his fellow strikers when perhaps he should have gone for goal himself.. Jamie fairly quiet and had a decent shout for a pen and very narrow decision went against him for a decent strike and goal late on. Ruari Keating - a new lease of life and will be difficult to leave out of a starting eleven work rate and commitment incredible and looks stronger and fitter than ever. The jurys out until we face proper opposition in a game that matters still need more cover and concerned by how much we will miss the quality and threat of Jennah and Connor Evans and with Niate again missing central defence needs another quality body.
