And while I’d never question Chelstongull’s renowned wisdom ..... He used to be an angry young man before he matured into a miserable old git. As for TUST overseeing the voting process, I don’t see much of a problem with that. It’s the type of role that is ideally suited to a Supporters club. Given the alleged unedifying part TUST played in the demise of the Official Supporters Club, perhaps there is some recompense in TUST doing the work. You have misunderstood. TUST is not overseeing the voting process, just providing assistance to the football club. It is the club's process. Thank you for reminding us of last season's vote as TUST assisted the club then too. I would agree with you that it is the type of role that is ideally suited to a Supporters club, so it is bizarre that the OFFICIAL Supporters' Club neither offered to assist nor were asked to assist. Didn't they run their own breakaway POTS initiative instead? I am intrigued by the "alleged unedifying part TUST played in the demise of the Official Supporters Club". All I can find is a weird twitter post from Bob Etherton: The Torquay United Official Supporters Club committee have resigned on block because of lack of support from TUFC, lack of funds and interferance from TUST. We are all gutted because of the hard work that has been put in to get it going but we have choice but to pack it in.So the main reason was lack of support from the football club itself. Ask not what you can do for your football club but what your football club can do for you. Second reason lack of funds.... The funds don't come to you, you have to make an effort to raise them. Or not as the case may be. Not sure what "interferance" is. Is it like interference? I know that after TUST got off their backsides to land the funding for the Fanzones, both TUOSC and TUCST were contacted with a view to a joint initiative to promote the football club in the community. That led to a hugely positive response from TUCST who share TUST's desire to put the football club at the heart of the community. As far as I know, the TUOSC did not even bother to respond. I am quite sure that if they had bothered to tell TUST that they had no interest in the project, nobody would have interfered to try to force them.

link - Tickets seem to be selling out well in Bristows bench at least with blocks C, D, E, F now sold out and only 37 left in block G and 174 in Block B as of this Wednesday morning. With 250 per block that is around 1000 tickets already sold in this area alone! Now just 49 tickets left in block B of Bristow’s Bench, reception open this morning for tickets. linkHad a quick look this morning and just 17 tickets left in Bristow’s Bench. Got a feeling we will have a higher attendance than against Eastbourne.

Another lovely morning Jon. I've just woken up and am only on my first cup of coffee, so am probably being a bit thick (no need to answer that ) but I'm not in total agreement with a couple of points. Jon I don't see why they can't be the same thing, or on what grounds you're trying to separate them ? Why would overseeing the POTY voting process not be a form of providing assistance to the football club ? I'm fully in line with it being the club's process, but TUST officials overseeing to ensure that it is adhered and abided by. According to TUST you need to go along to the Fanzone 'to cast your vote with the help of #TUST'. With google this morning telling me that 'oversee' means 'To watch over and direct; supervise', the club's chosen process I'm sure, but with TUST 'helping' you to comply with that process. We may have to disagree whether the term 'oversee' should be applied. Jon I don't see where Mr.Etherton gives any indication that those reasons are listed in a particular order of importance. How do we know he didn't attach equal importance to all three ? It could just be your personal opinion that Mr.Etherton's twitter post was 'weird', and your personal preference to select one of his three explanations and attach a 'main reason' tag to it. But even if TUST aren't overseeing the voting (or canvassing for new members at the same time ) I'd encourage anyone who wants to vote to seek out the ballot box. If I wander down in that direction I'll have my JC4PM badge attached to my lapel, so any TUST officials can be assured I come as a friend. Jamie Reid the runaway winner perhaps ? Liam Davis in the top three ?....though not based exclusively on his defensive abilities. Enjoy the game. #Champions #Clarkequay

With regard to POTY, why can't you download a voting slip, fill it in and drop if off at the club?

link - bit of a preview on Devonlive but also FIVE records up for grabs tomorrow and going into the last game. These are: 1) NLS attendance- 5022 to beat! 2) Number of wins (1 more needed) 3) Number of points (2 more needed) 4) Goals conceded - need to more clean sheets 5) Goals scored - only one more needed.

I would advise anyone to arrive early as the pop side was shut at 14.30 at the Eastbourne game although there did seem plenty of room ! I should imagine the capacity is set at 5000 - 5500 absolute top imo. Also i appreciate that the last game at St. Albans is NOT all ticket but are St Albans tickets on sale at Plainmoor tomorrow ? Nothing on the OS site.

We may have to disagree whether the term 'oversee' should be applied. I think we will. Overseeing the process might imply that TUST decided how, when and where votes could be registered - or at the very least had a say in the decision. By extension, it could hint that TUST decided how, when and where the award would be presented - or at the very least had a say in the decision. If there had been consultation, we may have seen more opportunities for wider participation - such as Chelston's suggestion: With regard to POTY, why can't you download a voting slip, fill it in and drop if off at the club? It could just be your personal opinion that Mr.Etherton's twitter post was 'weird', and your personal preference to select one of his three explanations and attach a 'main reason' tag to it. Grievances are usually, but I agree not always, listed in order of magnitude. It makes more sense to focus on the first one, whereas you ignored the first two and put all the blame on the third. The wording is definitely weird. Leaving aside "interferance", what about "but we have choice but to pack it in"? What does that mean? I also find it weird that somebody should allege he has a grievance, not discuss it at all with the body he thinks he has a grievance with but moan about it on social media instead. I understand that you would not find it weird as that is your modus operandi. At least Bob Etherton put his name to the tweet and did not hide behind a user name. By the way, if you know Bob I would be delighted to talk to him to find out more. Perhaps we could discuss it at the Fanzone, but don't worry if you are more comfortable sniping anonymously from behind a keyboard.

When you start thinking this winning divisional championships is a piece of piss. Doesn't matter who your playing you have to take your chances when presented. Have missed Hall - Janneh and Keating these last few games - Telling for next season GJ has work to do if were going to make a decent fist of it.
So disappointing BUT if there's a time to lose form its after you've won the title.
