link - Tickets seem to be selling out well in Bristows bench at least with blocks C, D, E, F now sold out and only 37 left in block G and 174 in Block B as of this Wednesday morning. With 250 per block that is around 1000 tickets already sold in this area alone!

A big thank you to rjdgull for revealing POTS voting facilities will be available once we're inside Plainmoor. With a big crowd forecast, many would have been anxious to join the queue without wanting to make a detour to the Fanzone first in order to vote. It's a pity that the Official site neglected to add this useful information, particularly with TUST tweeting yesterday:
Hopefully the Official site will also update soon, informing that there is no need to visit the Fan Zone in order to vote.

As always you make a good point. That is how it was run last year and hopefully it will be the same again as a lot of fans won’t be there early enough to vote at the FanZone or will miss this giving a lowish representative sample. Like you I will await for official confirmation of this. I see that this will be announced at the annual presentation awards at the Rivieria Centre on 1st May which on a Wednesday is perhaps not ideal - link

I am picking up some negative comments on other forms of social media that some fans are not happy about not seeing the presentation of the end of season awards on the pitch and will not vote. Also IF voting is restricted to the FanZone area which finishes half an hour before the match starts will we end up with a very low voting turnout?
What do others think?

Also IF voting is restricted to the FanZone area which finishes half an hour before the match starts will we end up with a very low voting turnout? What do others think? From the OS "The Yellow Army will have the opportunity to vote for their Player Of The Season and Young Player Of The Season at United’s final home game of the season against Hungerford (22/04/19 3pm KO). Supporters will be able to cast their votes between 12:30pm-2:30pm at the TUFC Fan Zone, which will be located on the grass outside Boots & Laces. With another large crowd expected, we encourage all supporters to arrive early in order to allow plenty of time to place their votes prior to the match. Further details regarding the winner of each award will be provided shortly" Am I right in saying from the above that despite winning the first Championship since 1927 the awards will not be presented on the pitch? Or will they do it at the end of the match. Come on Mr Edwards, what's occurring?

The NLS Trophy is being presented at the match. It’s the Player of the Season etc awards that aren’t. That’s right, isn’t it?

After yesterday’s showing I wonder if we will go back to a 4-4-2 formation and whether Koszela will get his first start up front with Reid after scoring his first goal?
It was good to see Edwards back playing and while the pitch did not suit him, he did ok and as he builds his fitness will be a good substitute to bring on. Question mark still over Hall but Vincent and Evans looks like a good combination and if the former is fit then perhaps one of Kalala or Andrews will be dropped from midfield.
No further update from the club so player of the season votes will close at FanZone at 2:30pm so you will need to get there early if you want to vote!

No further update from the club so player of the season votes will close at FanZone at 2:30pm so you will need to get there early if you want to vote! Indeed. It appears that the only way to cast a vote is to go to the Fanzone behind the Family Stand between 12.30 and 2.30. That will have militants like Alpine Joe frothing at the mouth, but I suppose the club's thinking on not having tables inside the ground is that they do not wish to create bottlenecks inside the entrances given the size of the crowd expected. George Edwards will be well aware that he needs to abide by European Union Health and Safety regulations. At least TUST, by offering this assistance to the club, will make it possible for some of our supporters to vote for POTY in a season where there are a lot more deserving candidates than we have seen in the last few years! I have heard quite a few people saying they will boycott the vote anyway in protest at the club's decision to deny supporters the chance to see the award presented. I can understand that point of view but fully understand the club wanting to milk as much commercial revenue from a successful season as possible. As that wise old man Chelston says, it should have been possible with a little imagination to achieve the best of both worlds. I also agree with the grand old man that we should be milking early bird season ticket sales for all they are worth NOW while floating potential s/t buyers are high on promotion adrenalin - rather than waiting for the buzz factor to dissipate in the close season. On the subject of fanzones, I was in Newton this morning and bumped into the fanzone in the market square. What a wonderful joint venture this is between TUST and the Torquay United Community Sports Trust (Football in the Community as was). I stood chatting to Robin Causley for a few minutes and we were approached by a lovely lady (older than Chelston) who said she had followed United since she was a girl although she could rarely get to Plainmoor now. Robin said that this was happening all the time. It is fantastic to see how cherished our wonderful football club is in the South Devon community.

Jon Frothing at the mouth was on the brink of occurring last season …. however, I’m completely relaxed this time around. The togetherness the squad have shown this campaign has been first class, and I’ve no real wish to separate one player out for personal praise. It’s been a real team effort, and the fact that the players will be lifting a trophy on Monday that they’ve won as a group, will in my opinion, be much more fitting. This time last year, I viewed the Player Of The Season Award in a different light, as it seemed vitally important to separate out one player whose commitment, attitude, and striving for the cause, marked him out as being head and shoulders above some other TUFC players who seemed to exhibit little interest in whether we stayed up or went down. The desire to indicate how much his individual effort and example was appreciated, made last season’s Player Of The Season Award of massive importance to me and a number of other fans…….whereas the desire to pat one player on the back more than the others at the end of this season, is something I have almost no motivation to do. And while I’d never question Chelstongull’s renowned wisdom , I don’t recall any desire to seek the best of both worlds on that occasion. Claims of wanting to let everyone see the Player Of The Season award be presented on the pitch, ring a bit hollow with those of us that remember who it was that wanted to deny everyone, both young and old, from seeing any such presentation last year. Who would have deprived us from showing our appreciation of, and awarding Luke Young one of the most richly deserved Player Of The Season accolades ever presented to a TUFC player. In fact, are we not just days away from the anniversary (23rd April 2018, link No Award, No Presentation), marking the start of a thread trying to stop all of us from seeing a Player Of The Season Award being presented, whether on the pitch or elsewhere ? Yet now, less than 12 months later, that same TFF member requires it to be run and presented to his specific preferences ?? As for TUST overseeing the voting process, I don’t see much of a problem with that. It’s the type of role that is ideally suited to a Supporters club. Given the alleged unedifying part TUST played in the demise of the Official Supporters Club, perhaps there is some recompense in TUST doing the work. p.s A belated happy birthday to Chelston, who I’m certain will accept this light-hearted leg pulling in the friendly spirit in which it’s intended. And his desire to be first in the queue for a 2019/20 season ticket is a credit to him. The view of the NLS trophy glinting in the afternoon Plainmoor sunshine on Monday afternoon should be a tonic to us all, as we aim for a unified front on and off the pitch in order to prosper at the higher level of the National League next season.
