TUFC previewCameron preview This is a key game against an in form side and kicks off an important period against the better sides in this division. Obviously the players will be up for this one but our defence will be a key consideration as Cameron talks about above with no clean sheets recently. We were unlucky not to win at Plainmoor and had a great chance to go three up but does show what a good side they are to come back like that. A pity we didn’t play them in their crap spell but with both teams losing last week a win is now essential! COYY

Again, pity about the timing.

Splashing the cash again for the run-in are Billericay. 22 year old former England U20 left/centre-back Cole Kpekewa also signed in the last 24 hours. There will be a feel good factor of the returning hero for them and this will be a tough test for our young squad.

Mmmmmm...who in their right mind would have money riding on TUFC? Fortunately not me! Even after losing at home to the bottom team I still decided to keep my bet in place! It wasn't until I saw how Wealdstone summarily dispatched (like we should have done) WSM, that I realized the game was up! I sat very sad and despondent and thought, I have to pull this! So once I'd done that, my attention turned towards my bet! So on a cold foggy windswept Dales night...I pressed the ten cash out buttons! By doing so, increasing my bank balance by nearly 16K! Enough of my woes...we're stuffed!

That's the first time I've ever been accused of pulling out too early! I just feel we've come off the boil, and with 3/4 very difficult games ahead (starting tomorrow) I thought it was time to give my poor bum a rest!

So once I'd done that, my attention turned towards my bet! So on a cold foggy windswept Dales night...I pressed the ten cash out buttons! By doing so, increasing my bank balance by nearly 16K! Enough of my woes...we're stuffed! I rarely gamble these days, aside from buying a Florida 'Lucky Money' ticket, at $1, but I only do that, once the top prize hits the $2mill max level. However last month, I went in to buy one and the assistant told me it had been discontinued and replaced by a new game. Not knowing anything about the new game I decided I would check the website, later at home. At that time, there was an ad on the radio for a new scratchcard called 'Gold Rush', so whilst on the website I checked it out. It offered 6 first prizes of $2mill, none of which had been won, so I decided at my next fuel fill-up, I would buy one. So on the day, I put my $20 note in the machine and picked one of these $10 tickets. I then looked for the change button to get my remaining 10 bucks back, when I saw the sign that said 'This machine does not give change'. Never one to mope, I just decided to buy a second ticket. Got back in my van and started the scratch-off process. The first card had no winning numbers. Deflated and annoyed with myself for wasting money I started on the second. Ah ha! The first number I scratched off was a winning one. I decided not to scratch off the prize amount but took it in to the store to get it checked electronically. Gave it to the assistant who was amused I had stopped scratching as soon as I saw I had a winning number. "Let's see how much then" he said". Scanned the ticket and up came the prize amount on the screen my side. $1,000 no less! I then found out that the stores only pay out prizes up to $600. Anything above you have to go to Orlando to collect, an 82-mile round drive for me. But I did it, to get my cash, which in true robbing, conning, US fashion, was only $700, as they deduct gambling tax at 30% on all winnings. Still. better $700 in my pocket than someone else's. I don't think I've ever won more than a tenner on the lottery! I did have a feeling in the early days of the uk lottery (draw 8/9) that numbers that had won previously would win again! I couldn't be arsed to find out said numbers, and went to the pub! Had I been arsed, I would have won about 1.2 million quid!

The next five game series ending with Woking away in just four weeks time are as tough as they come - on paper at least. Doubtful we will be overpowering all of these opponents who no doubt will be smelling blood after last weeks showing. They would all just love to knock us off of our perch. We have no other option to keep playing this way as we are struggling to plug a leaky defense and do not appear to have any alternative tactics and its a concern when we probably need to score three or four to win a game. The amazing winning run that saw us shoot to the top of the table has given us a all a false sense of invincibility as easy wins have become less and less of a foregone conclusion. Keeping players fresh and hungry with such a small squad is a mammoth task and GJ's ability will be tested to the full. I can't honestly see us being able to maintain the intensity in our attacking play we have shown for so long but who knows? As we discovered last week form generally gets a little less predictable at this stage of the season. Asa Hall has it right though and the only way forward is to try and continue to repeat what we have been doing to get where we are. Its an rare feeling being top of the tree with a chasing pack below us and adds to the pressure and its hard to enjoy it from a fans point of view. Will we crack under the pressure?
Can we handle it? That's the big question

To be honest, I'm getting a little peeved at teams trying to knock us off our perch...mainly because they're getting quite good at it! Would rather we went under the radar for a while!

Many Torquay fans who set off to get there via Dartford Crossing will not make it to the game today, myself included. Been in stationary traffic for an hour.

Keating is in for Kalala to make us a bit more “solid”.
Kalala can come on as an impact sub to open up a tiring defence.
Sendles-White still out.

Absolutely cracking result that could not come at a better time and reignites our season. Unfortunately I’ve been out most of the day and just got back for the last five minutes when we had just scored and now really buzzing!

Passed the toughest of tests with flying colours. The flair of Kalala coming off the bench and the finishing of 27 goal machine Jamie Reid might have won us the game but it sounds like we showed another side of our game today with the first clean sheet for some while. Superb win so so important. That should re instill some belief after last weeks wobble.
