Not surprised its pissed down for most of the day and the pitch doesn't drain all over not just in that one bad area. Did we really want another bloody lottery in any case? Onward to Billy on Saturday then...

Who'd have thought it, that rain coming in at the last minute. Still, poor timing. link - environmental agency have issued a flood warning as well. Looks like water polo would have been viable but not much else.... Poor indeed...there was a bit of sarcasm in my comment Rob!

Big shift in the weather forecast from the met office - now forecast to rain from 2pm tomorrow for about 12 hours Thank you Jesus! 😇 They'll be something in your Christmas stocking! 😁

Boy, did it rain last night. BBC reporting that up to 2 inches (5cm) of rain fell in parts of the Westcountry and Wales last night, in the end, absolutely no chance of the match going ahead and the worst case scenario was probably starting the game and wrecking the pitch (even more) and having it called off at half-time!
Register – a bit of dry weather for our next home game would be appreciated.

Might have been helpful if they had put some of those thoughts out earlier...

The problem was that the pitch was playable in the morning and it was only at some point in the afternoon likely in the period leading up to the inspection that the pitch became unplayable. I do not think you can cancel a game based on a forecast because that can be wrong. It is just one of those things, an Act of God that you cannot legislate for.
As for the Chelmsford fans, I do not have too much sympathy. They knew the forecast, they knew the state of the pitch and travelled knowing that there was a high probability that the game would not go ahead. They have lots of clubs around them that we would consider to be local derbies so have a lot lower mileage to travel in a season than us.
Hopefully it will be third time lucky!

Bump! And here we go again for the third time but now with no issues with either the pitch or the weather forecast.
Chelmsford are going well in fourth place and while secure in the play-offs will be battling hard with Welling for that all-important third place spot which avoids the first round of play-off games. How a long journey mid week will impact on them remains to be seen but I expect a similar intensity game to that just played against Wealdstone.
This is a massive game for us as a win sees us seven points clear at the top of the table and takes the pressure off us going into the Woking match and Johnson will be totally focused on getting all three points.
Johnson has a very difficult selection decision to make in central defence in that does he play Sendles-White who has done nothing wrong in the last few games or does Niate start having come on and scored on Saturday? Competition and a bit of squad rotation is never a bad thing. Also will Andrews feature having not made the bench on Saturday and been stuck on the bench following injury for the previous few games after being such a key part of the side for most of the season?
Always lower attendances at mid week games so somewhere approaching 2500 will be good and obviously much better than Owers was achieving on Saturday games early on this season.

This will be as tough a game as yesterday and its hard to understand how Wealdstone are still out side the playoff spots looking at how they performed. I guess certain sides get stronger and find a little extra towards the end of a season with the playoffs in sight. I hope that 90 minute battle hasn't taken too much out of the players in what was a very physical encounter. I noticed one or two were feeling the odd knock also in the warm down. Saikou Janneh was certainly suffering with a neck muscle strain of some sort though played well and gave his all as always. I think its good that we are playing the better sides at this stage when its so easy to become complacent - in the mind at least. The pitch has recovered and thankfully it wont be a lottery of a game as it would have been a few weeks ago. Another big crowd at Plainmoor on an early spring evening - cant wait..

I was so embarrassed at the Bath game when it all kicked off. Really helped the team that day - Not! Do you mean the Woking game Aussie or tonight?

I think it will be 90 minutes plus of squeaky bum time (again), followed by more of the same on Saturday.
