After winning our only away fixture over the festive period on Saturday, we now play the first of four fixtures at home in a 10 day period. With it being in the interests of Truro for the New Year’s game to go ahead, they haven’t been slow in having their games postponed giving the pitch time to recover and the weather forecast post Christmas is mainly dry 😀
Truro are on a good run of form having only suffered one defeat in nine matches in all competitions and that was against Oxford city with a heavy four nil defeat although this side sit second only to us in the last 10 game form table and worth keeping an eye on.
Whatever you may think of Owers, he did have a good eye for a decent centre back and is a position where we have an abundance of riches but our captain Cameron is a shoe in to return from his suspension and I assume will be at the expense of Sendles-White to continue his partnership with Niate but is a difficult decision nonetheless. At least we can fill the bench this time.
While Keating remains suspended for the next two games we only have a 16 year old as cover for our 2 strikers although both are on fire. Saying that, Janneh was a young striker without a senior goal to his credit and looked very nervy when he joined us but look at him go now! Reid isn’t a shoe in to be our top scorer this season although remains favourite but having two 20+ goalscorers remains on the cards.
Hopefully we will get our highest gate of the season so far although I am unlikely to add to the numbers due to family commitments. COYY!

Expecting a tough encounter as will GJ who always seems able to motivate and get the players "up for it" no matter who the opposition is.
Our run of wins will inevitably come to an end at some point and the manager will prepared for that event no doubt and will know how to respond. GJ has instilled a very rare thing in the squad "complete self belief and the players have bought into his system 100%". Where former managers have tried and failed GJ has a group of players performing consistently and at the top of their games.
I must admit to keep thinking that perhaps the next match our levels will drop off only to be proved otherwise.
Not sure how he does it but my guess he has a blueprint for success and is sticking to it.
Looking forward to an entertaining period with plenty of goals. Pretty sure were really going to tank someone at some point we look so threatening and full of goals..

I've loved the Boxing Day games over recent years. Against Forest Green especially, and also when the legendary Cap'n Manse brought his promotion bound Bristol Rovers down to Plainmoor. Hopefully rjd will thoroughly enjoy his family commitments, and then be further boosted by receiving news of a convincing win for the Gulls. I think 99% of us would bring Cameron straight back in, but we've seen little wrong with Sendles-White, and big Niate continues to knock off some rough edges, confirming, as rjd indicates, it's very much an area of the pitch where we are particularly strong. As it's the season of good will, then a minor hat tip towards Gary Owers isn't out of place. As always it's never totally clear cut in just what direction, and in what amounts, the credit should be dished out. Wynter looked a particularly weak link earlier in the season, but more recently the reports suggest that his game has improved. Is that due to GJ's coaching ?, the confidence gained from being part of a winning team ?, or just a case that it took him a little longer to find his feet at a new club ? Whatever we might think of the situation, it's all nicely set up for an interesting Boxing Day game in front of a big crowd. Occasions like this only still continuing thanks to our Chairman coming to the rescue of the club in it's dire hour of need. I know it's tempting to look forward to holding a Carol Service at the magnificent Osborne Arena, then a few days later enjoying a slap up Boxing Day lunch thanks to the top class banqueting facilities at our new home, before we settle back to enjoying the Football league match to be played out in front of us, as an array of yellow shirted talent, funded by our greatly increased and diverse revenue streams, takes apart whoever the opposition are on the day. Another bumper pay day for the club, and a decent and well deserved wedge for our entrepreneurial Chairman. For old times sake let's remember to saviour the Plainmoor Christmas atmosphere this Boxing Day, in the knowledge that the old place's time to be consigned to the history books is beckoning. And then to set our sights firmly on bringing those bright TUFC Christmases of the future that much nearer to reality.....unless TUST and the political games of their compliant councillors have succeeded in getting Nightingale Park both 'World Heritage Site' and 'Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty' status by then  |

Greetings to Torquay United fans from my new home town of Annan. May the Gulls cruise to victory over the Cornish upstarts, Plainmoor be preserved as the special place it is and an independent nuclear-free Scotland welcomed back into the EU.
Ah, I almost forgot. Someone free us from the Madman in the White House as well.

Annan Athletic its sure to be then if want to watch a live match.
Worryingly far too many Nut Jobs governing the super powers - though unfortunately those super powers don't have a monopoly on "Nut jobs". Losing faith in our politicians I'm afraid.

So, the sun has risen (not up here it hasn't...it's shitty) on another memorable day in the history of TUFC!  How many times has it risen in the past when we had 'Great Expectations', only to walk away with a sore pair of Gonads! All that of course was before we had GJ as manager...I'm confident!  One thing that is beginning to 'Piss Me Off' greatly, is those bloody games in hand that Woking (put the hex on Woking, so I have more chance of falling pregnant than they have of winning today) still have! On top of that, they will have another game in hand in just over a week!  You can't celebrate, plan ahead...anything! To be honest, it's like 'The Sword of Dagenham' hanging over us!  Oh, just to remind some of the members of this site...it's only 365 days until Christmas! |

Hope we show the day trippers what we can do. How many times have we disappointed in front of a big crowd?
Truro will be no walkover. I am sure sure GJ will make sure the players are on their toes. He won’t want a repeat of WSM.
If Janneh, Reid and Kalala run at their defence, surely they will crack won’t they?
Tempting to keep a winning team, but Cameron is our best defender and a left-footer.
Will Sendles-White drop out - or will he get the nod over either Niate or Wynter?
