There were 695 victims of homicide in the year ending March 2020, 47 more (7%) than the previous year; this figure includes the Grays lorry incident with 39 homicide victims – if this incident is excluded, homicide showed a 1% increase overall. The homicide rate was 11.7 per million population, with the rate for males (17 per million population) almost three times that for females (6 per million population); this is a higher difference than previous years because of a 20% increase in the number of male victims, from 422 to 506, and a 16% decrease in the number of female victims, from 225 to 188. The homicide rate over the three-year period to year ending March 2020 was 49.5 per million population for the Black ethnic group, approximately five times higher than for the White ethnic group (9.4 per million population). Just under two-thirds (443 or 64%) of all homicide victims in the year ending March 2020 were from the White ethnic group. The number of Black victims in the last year, at 105, was the highest seen since the year ending March 2002 (107 victims). There were 142 homicide victims aged 16- to 24-years-old, an increase of 32 on the previous year and a return to the relatively high levels seen in the year ending March 2018 (147). The most common method of killing continued to be by a sharp instrument, with 275 homicides by this method, an increase of 15 offences (up 6%) compared with the previous year and the second highest annual figure since 1946. Surely that lorry incident can’t be classed as murder can it? Nope, think it was manslaughter which comes under the wider definition of homicide. Homicide can even be legal such as a soldier killing an enemy combatant at a time of war. |

As you say, one killing filmed and one not, although I feel your dramatic ‘deliberate extinction of the life’ words should be kept for the likes of Jihadi John and not for an over worked police officer doing his job. Obviously wasn’t doing his job as proven in a court of law. Even during a time of war that would be in breach of the Geneva convention! |

Obviously wasn’t doing his job as proven in a court of law. Even during a time of war that would be in breach of the Geneva convention! The words Timothy John Evans come to mind. |

People do though put their own spin on things, and a lot of that outrage was a case of ‘monkey see-monkey do’, which is why so many women walk around with huge arses…because of watching Kim Kardashian on the tele! The reasons I don’t wonder why, I have mentioned many times on this site, and if you spent more time trying to understand what I am saying rather than just ripping my posts apart, you would know. More to follow, but there’s a break in the clouds and have to get the dogs out. 🐶 There was a time when I tried my hardest to understand what you were saying, but you don't seem able to restrict your comments to the topic at hand. What has Kim Kardashian's ass to do with watching a murder on TV? Everything. 🙂 |

I notice that the guy who ‘blew-up’ a taxi and himself in Liverpool was of Middle Eastern origin. What I don’t understand, is how he managed to get into the country? Oh well, I suppose we’ll never know, and it will go down as one of the mysteries of life. Much like, whatever happened to Jimmy Hoffa, and why was I the only man on the planet not to sha& Princess Diana?
Just a quick note on the Suicide Bomber, he is not going to Paradise with a shit load of Virgins as he’s been informed!
Also, it’s a bit of a cop-out if you’re a Suicide Bomber and when you are on your way to work you think: ‘mmmm, I might get hurt here, so I think I’ll do the job outside of a hospital!’

Before Brexit we had a multilateral arrangement in place to return many of those who first set foot in another EU country. We don’t now and other nations understandably are disinterested in entering into bilateral arrangements. And, as we know, more are crossing than before Brexit. Well done all those who voted for Brexit ‘coz of the immigrants’. How is “taking back control” going for you?

Yes, I believe we were in some sort of agreement over immigrants whilst in the EU, and under that agreement we were able to send about three people back. I don’t know the exact number so it could have been less.
Brexit was never going to be about countries, it was always going to be about individuals. In France you have ‘The Little Corporal’ who’s one policy in life is to cause as much disruption and chaos in this country as possible, which of course he doesn’t need to bother with because our politicians are doing a perfectly good job of it! In Germany you have/had ‘Kaiser Merkel’ another politician living out their fantasies.
Mass immigration is having/going to have a catastrophic effect on this country because it will never stop, the reason for that being we will never have a PM in this country with the sense to stop it! 🛑
In answer to your final question, Brexit hasn’t impacted on me at all, because as I have previously mentioned I live in a quiet part of the Yorkshire Dales and life just poodles on by. 🦦
