From one cup to another sees us away against Basingstoke town on 24 November. Not something to get overly enthused about but we will see how Johnson approaches this.

Hopefully with as many not presently getting game time, getting that game time. I’ve felt differently about the Trophy in previous seasons but it is all about promotion from our lowly level this season.

I agree that promotion should be the number one aim, but I think The FAT deserves some respect. After all, it is the only cup we realistically have any chance of some success in. And if we were somehow to win it, that would be £156,000 added to our coffers, which is not an amount to be sniffed at. When we made it to the final a few years ago I seem to remember it invigorated the club somewhat. After the last few years we could defo do with some more of that. That’s exactly how I have felt previously about the competition and will so again once we are back in the League above the one we’re in now. |
