After one of the best starts to the season for sometime we now travel away and try and build on those 2 home wins from last week. The main worry for us is scoring goals but it was very encouraging to see Keating hit a brace on Saturday and hopefully he can take confidence from that. According to the official preview Wright is getting closer to being able to participate and he could be the long term solution but it does seem he was way off the pace when he joined us!
The first artificial pitch for us to play on and will be interesting to see how this will affect the side? COYY

Half Time 0-1 Same old story - punch less going forward as most predicted before the seasons start. If Owers doesn't solve that one well be languishing in this league for a very long time.

National league south - better get used to it. Ever since Owers has been here he hasn't been able to solve our impotent nonthreatening forward line. Sounded like we could have played all night and not scored. He has to solve this problem a problem we can all see and has been obvious from the very start of the season.

Owers post match interview Some thoughts from Owers and if we do concede first I think a lot of teams will do anything to hold onto it. Seems we were not without chances and a first appearance from Wright so onward

We are on a precarious journey - a couple more defeats in the next few games could define our season as being yet another one of disappointment and possible struggle. The real need is to get some oooomph up front through a ball winner with pace and aggression - none of the current crop of players (other than possibly Wright) have shown these qualities consistently. We need to get the ball in the net regularly. Sure there is a smattering of better players in the team but performance wise, it is already starting to feel like a continuation of last season. We need some spectacular results to consider ourselves to be worthy title challengers and we need them soon.

He has to solve this problem a problem we can all see and has been obvious from the very start of the season. To me it was obvious as the nose on my face that last season the strike force employed didn't cut the mustard, so what does Mr Charisma do, re-engage three of them for this season. Trouble is that with poor results our crowds will dwindle - this could be part of CO's masterplan to next season go part time.

Wont be long before the natives start getting very restless with mr personality in charge oh dont worry he is more than capable of getting us out of this league my concern is it will probably be relegation though

The other thing it would be really good to see is some inventive dead ball/free kick plays. Something a little different than bog standard free kicks/corners etc. that should be well rehearsed prior to matches and based upon player strengths and opposition weakness. Probably too much like hard work though!

Both our previous wins have been unconvincing and somewhat fortunate. No intensity to our build up and forward play whatsoever and its been like it for ever it seems. Along with a forward line unable to hold up the ball when it does get to them. Not enough quality balls into the box and when there is one its not anticipated. Were not scoring goals or showing enough threat against weak opposition and Owers needs to sort it before we plummet.

Losing to Oxford United would be disappointing but understandable. Losing to Oxford City is a complete joke. If we don't buy a couple of decent strikers there will be little to celebrate ( again ! ) this season.
