"Torquay United is aware of a comment made by Josh Gowling on social media and we have requested this be deleted, as our enquiries show this post to be inaccurate and misleading. An internal investigation has been initiated."
What's he done?

He said he was upset at his friends fathers death and also upset that if he goes to the funeral, he will be fined. This attracted comments of ‘Ill pay your fine’, ‘Torquay are a disgrace’ etc, which he left up on Twitter for about two days until the Club asking to remove was made public.

I'm sure that Josh Gowling, in retrospect realises that his tweet was unwise but has typically been blown out of all proportion by a few who think the football club and Harrop in particular are going to pull the squad together and take us back to the football league! Reading some of the immature and ill informed social media reactions to it in defense of the management that we all know is one to have little empathy with players as human beings leaves me in despair. The Gareth Law debacle is revealing. We have no idea what connection Josh Gowling had with his best friends late father and I'm pretty certain that If I had a close friend who needed support on one of the worse days of his life I would do my utmost to be there for them. None of us know Josh Gowlings true background and this guy may well have been as close as family. He was annoyed and angered by the clubs response and reacted with a comment and is now being condemned by many out of hand with nobody able to come up with a true and factual version of events. Odd that footballers are given little leeway by supporters if they show any signs of being human.
As a human being and as a footballer who is still signed to my club he has my support.

Whatever the ins and outs of this situation, we will probably never know, but Gowling should not have taken to social media to air his grievance. Regardless of your profession, anybody who does that must expect repercussions from ones employer. Gowling's future at TUFC is now virtually untenable and I'm sure he wants out as much as Owers wants rid. I suspect Gowling knew full well all along his actions would hasten his exit.

The proprietor of Beyond the Penn Inn Roundabout says on his forum that Josh Gowling is a shirker, an arsehole and a thingy, that he is cancerous in the dressing room and leaves a bad smell. He says that Gowling should f**k off.
He also says that Josh should be sacked because he posted an unfavourable comment on social media.
And they say satire is dead.

And they say satire is dead. Not at all surprised Felix I used to go there and participate but there are one or two so far up there own arse's with their playground comments and name calling it all became boring and tedious to the extreme. There were similar insulting comments about Mc Ginty when he announced his departure. It felt like I was back in the school playground but decided I was unwilling to join the bully boy clique with there dumb personal insults . Comments like that just shows them up for what they are and not worth the time of day. I believe its just a small minority that suck up to the "Master" of all football knowledge but if I thought it was a wide representation of the supporters of this club I have no doubt I would drop supporting this football club for good.

And they say satire is dead. They have 'The Sycophantic Three' over there, and whatever 'The Divine One' says...they always agree! TDO: 'I saw the Sun rise in the West this morning' ~ TST:'Oh yes DO it did, it did!' TDO: 'I think that the moon is made of cheese' ~ TST: 'Oh yes DO it is, it is!' TDO: 'Stay where you are, I haven't finished yet' ~ TST: 'But DO, our knees are killing us!' One of TST used to post over here...what was his name again? Super Sperm or something! He used to address every one on this site as if they were 'arse-holes',...but of course the only 'arse-hole' on this site was Super Sperm himself!
