On a day when people have died in Palestine, Cuba and the United States the BBC, and Sky, have described these as "other" news, and have spent the whole day putting up saturation coverage of this bloody wedding.
Every time I have turned on, and quite swiftly turned off, my TV, it's all about this royalist crap. They have interviewed people who have been sleeping on the street for five days, and American women who gushingly express how wonderful the "Royals" are.
The major TV companies seem to believe that we should all be excited by this elitist event, and have attempted to force it down our throats ad nauseam. As far as I am concerned, the sooner it is off our TV screens, the better, and we can then settle down to watching the main event of the day, the Cup Final.

Completely agree......I was well pissed off with the news coverage but had only really switched on for the weather forecast....when it arrived it was the weather forecast for bloody Windsor....then it went on to the 'local' news, and I became convinced I must have been kidnapped and taken to the South East as that was all about street parties for the Royal Wedding. Not a mention of the Grecians brilliant achievement in reaching Wembley! Must disagree on the main event of the day though. I am going to that....off to Sandy Park for the Rugby Premiership Semi-Final Exeter Chiefs v Newcastle Falcons. I expect young hector will be in attendance as well.......and the 2nd main event of the day is just down the road.....the Devon County Show!

A bit of escapism in my view. I'm not a great fan off the royal family, but for a moment we could all forget the cares of this country and the world (some of them mentioned in the opening post) and have a little fun in the sun! Shame that the Brides father couldn't be there...then again, neither was the Grooms!
