Register Amen to that. Sing out Brother . There's no braille alternative available yet. But the Chairman has already released an audible version of today's statement. 'I am convinced that a new purpose built multi event stadium and academy, with supporting leisure activities, good road and rail communication and acres of car parking will provide the facilities and finance for sustained success and bring considerable inward investment and spend to Torbay'. There is a lot of carrot in that statement; facilities and finance for the club to achieve sustained success, inward investment for Torbay and 5 year plan to get back into the football league together with The reemergence of the youth Academy - what is there not to like? Just as long as he gets the freehold of course so plans can then be put in motion. He certainly knows what buttons to press, bit like a politician’s manifesto.
In principle the idea may even can be made to work and therefore has some credence although there are a hell of a lot of hurdles to overcome. However, no detailed assessments have been made public as to how this will all be viable and as has been highlighted previously, the track record of Mr Osborne in building Stadia after promising them is frankly appalling and why would anyone have any confidence in him to deliver this time?

I see our MP Kevin Foster has mentioned the statement in his weekly update and after speaking to Dave Thomas (councillor) has confirmed no further discussions have taken place and the sale of the freehold is likely to be rejected on a cross party basis. I see our previous MP Adrian Sanders has also commented on this. Things are crap now but will be so much worse if the freehold is sold

Let’s hope things can be kept together and that CO and his cronies eventually move on. His statement was total claptrap.

Will the HE be doing the same? This club statement is surely a lead in to a journalist asking about other ‘stadia build’ projects he’s been involved with and how many got built. Will the HE be doing that?

I see our previous MP Adrian Sanders has also commented on this. Things are crap now but will be so much worse if the freehold is sold Yes that well known communist activist Kevin Foster has been rocking the boat. Yes I do know that he is a Conservative Party MP but that still puts him way way to the left of Alpine Joe's comedy caricature. Here is what Commie Kev said: In light of this earlier today I spoke with Cllr Dave Thomas, who leads the majority Conservative group on Torbay Council, to ask if there had been any developments on this issue. He was clear there have been no discussions with Councillors and no plans for a new stadium have been put forward for consideration by them. He was unable to comment on why this statement had been made, but he made clear the Bay’s Councillors (On a cross party basis) were skeptical about this suggestion and would be almost certain to block any sale of Plainmoor’s Freehold as part of it.So you do have to question the normal Osborne mantra - so brilliantly parodied on here by Alpine Joe - that he does all that he can to build stadia and is only scuppered every single time by small-thinking communist councillors and fans. The council has done nothing at all to scupper Osborne's plans as he hasn't presented any plans. All he has done is to make a clumsy lunge for the freehold. Must go now - I've got some leaflets to hand out!

Is there now a problem that two years on, and any article on this topic will raise the question as to why this was not reported on earlier when it could have made a difference. .
