I'd like to see him go with Pittman instead of McQuoid, too. Owers has had plenty of time to have a think about things with the break. McQuoid was ever-present and poor before that break. More hopeless than hapless. Oh yeah - We'll win 2-1. Dowling and Gowling.

Nothing changes and will not change until we have a robust target man, someone who can physically bully defenders and who can create space for the lightweights.
I'm sure Owers knows where its lacking its as plain as the nose on your face.
If we concede as we did again today against a pretty average but determined Maidstone outfit then the outcome is inevitable and has been for some time.
I'm now resigned to us not ever scoring and losing by the odd goal.
Ive had enough misery on the terraces along with many others with so many shaking their heads at full time and just walking out.
So until we sign a proper target man and start to score goals again I wont be attending Ive simply had enough despite a valiant second half fightback that went unrewarded but its not just about today its happening every week.
The first half was poor as we conceded a soft free kick and were made to pay the price.
Dorell I thought could have positioned himself better but as soon as it hit the net you just knew that we had next to nothing to offer as a threat in and around the penalty box to get back into the game.
Dowling was the biggest let down in the first half he didn't look fit or interested and was well off of the pace and it was no surprise when failed to emerge second half.
The introduction of Myrie Williams and Lathrope for Evans had a positive effect as we played further up the pitch and were camped in there half for the entire second half.
Cant fault the effort, or application, there was a lot that was good second half and this is a far better back four/five and mid field than at the start of the season and we look more organised but if you don't produce in the final third it will always come back to bite you on the arse and for the umpteenth time it did again today.

Nothing will change until we sort out the target man situation we have far to many forwards of similar build, ability and type who are just to lightweight to ruffle defenders.

An old familiar story at Plainmoor today and once again when we went behind you had little confidence we would retrieve the situation. In fairness, it was one of our better performances but until we find someone, anyone, who can stick the ball in the net we will continue to lose and relegation will be a formality. We have no-one – defender, midfielder or striker who you have faith in to score. It does not matter how the ball goes in, we cannot even score a scruffy goal. We have no goal poacher, no-one who can head the ball in, no-one who can score from long range efforts, set pieces and as we found out today no-one who can score from a 1-on-1 with their keeper. This is not down to bad luck as it happens every game. We simply have not got the players capable of scoring. Reid was again our main threat in front of goal and at least he made their keeper save 1 or 2. Not that they were particularly difficult saves to make. Crowd an awful 1,799 bearing in mind there looked around 300 from Maidstone. Credit to their fans who made plenty of noise and colour assisted with a drummer. Torquay's fans kept with the team to the final whistle as well. I did not catch on the sound system who was sponsors MOTM, maybe someone could confirm this. What I can confirm is that there was a skirmish near the end between our match sponsors and stewards and someone was ejected. Quite bizarre?

The first half I thought Torquay passed the ball well and had good shape. There is a big BUT however. Whenever the ball went into the opposition's penalty box we simply fizzled out. We got into decent positions especially Davis as left rampaging wingback. Three times his crosses were hit too heavily and went over everyone. Players seemed reluctant to shoot when they had an opening. I was very impressed with centre back Efete today and he actually had a decent effort a saved from their keeper. That summed up how toothless our forwards are that a defender had our best first half chance. Torquay probably edged the first half but Maidstone looked more incisive in their attacks. Dorel saved well on a 1-on-1. Maidstone's goal resulted from a soft free-kick about 25 yards out on our right. Their player floated over a static wall of 4 players and into the near post with Dorel scrambling over too late. It looked too easy and surely our wall should at least jump as the kick is taken. Like previous games you did not fancy Torquay to come back.

Lathrope and Myrie-Williams came on at half-time with the latter catching the eye. Dubutant right wingback Barum-Bob improved in the second half as well. We got stronger as the game went on. Our golden chance finally arrived, Myrie-Williams putting through McQuiod 1-on-1 with their keeper in a central position. Their keeper came out and smothered it and you felt Torquay would not get another chance like that. Keating replaced McQuoid and added some good energy. We had numerous corners, crosses into the box, ping-ponging around. There was never a Torquay man to finish it off. Even in added time Gowling for the second home game running fluffed his header at close range. Gowling might be a decent defender on the deck but he is not much cop in the air as I keep finding out. Robin Stubbs behind me was frustrated at the final whistle rueing our lack of a finisher. He should know what a finisher is all about!

Same old, same old, all so predictable. In approach play we don't look like a relegation team but the fact is we don't know how to score and in that respect we have made no progress at all and will get us relegated with games to spare.

Again I say the owers bubble has burst! Can't see results wise really that he is doing better than kev! I feel if kev was given more time and the extra resources in he would have done a bit better than owers has. Who's to blame? The fat bloke in the office!
