Finally we have a management team in place that will hopefully see dramatic change in fortunes and results. From what I have heard so far you have to be encouraged by the level headed professional attitude of both of the new men. Unlikely success will happen overnight but I predict a 100% effort performance against a Barrow side that has struggled to find consistency this season and since the departure of former manager Paul Cox. Whether that will work in our favour tomorrow is another matter but we will win a game at some point - why not start tomorrow? As predicted a few surprising changes. Six defenders start - four forwards standing by on the bench . I understand the tactics here for a change.
Dorel (GK), Efete, McGinty, Gowling (c), Young, Pittman, Evans, Anderson, Reid, Higgins, Dowling
subs: Osborn (GK), Keating, Gray, Fallon, Myrie-Williams

Will be good to have a Saturday game and not drop all the points! Let's see how things pan out and whether the new coach can get better performances out of what has largely been a pretty shabby bunch. Three points would be a good start - even a draw could be positive. A defeat would be worrying.

Dorel (GK), Efete, McGinty, Gowling (c), Young, Pittman, Evans, Anderson, Reid, Higgins, Dowling
subs: Osborn (GK), Keating, Gray, Fallon, Myrie-Williams No sign of Cole. Higgins moved into an attacking role. Owers said 4-3-3 with Evans holding, but looks like a kind of 4-1-2-2-1 which can be a 4-3-3, a 4-5-1 or a 4-1-4-1 as the game demands. Dorel Efete Gowling McGinty Anderson Evans Dowling Young Higgins Reid Pittman

As "protective" a side as he could have picked. Understandable. Whether it works is another matter. If we concede he has forwards on the bench to change tactics. Makes sense to me.

Owers said he had picked as many big men as possible at the back due to Barrow's style. It certainly isn't going to be pretty, but let's hope we can win ugly - three points far more important than a "good game".

Higgins moved into an attacking role. Well that experiment didn' t last long! I assume Higgins injured in warm up as Gray is a late replacement with Haworth coming on to the bench.

Myrie-Williams on for Pittman at half-time.
Third player to have a go wide right, not counting Higgins who was originally named to play there!

Torquay, Guiseley and Solihull all concede late.
What else do we all have in common?
We have now played all the crap teams and not beaten any of them.

Expected it in all honesty - quite used to salt being rubbed into the wounds. Don't know how to keep the ball and play out a game. I think they'll get the message in a bit though.
