I apologize if I have created a thread in which most people may not be interested, however the current thread "What are you listening to" seems to be dominated by a certain Mr W, who seems to be dominating the board with all sorts of music which I have never heard of.
Apologies to him if I have intruded on his one-man-band series of musical experiences, however I was looking forward to hearing "Rule Britannia" at this year's Last Night of the Proms, only to hear that it had been excluded because the producers were worried about offending the poor dears of the Scottish Nationalists.
Never mind, if anyone is interested in the best version of the song, simply go to the 1992 version on YouTube and listen to Kiri Te Kanawa, and I guarantee that you will be blown away (if you like that kind of thing).

As the person who initiated the 'European Union: In or Out ?' thread, which has had in excess of 20,000 views and plenty of replies, you're more than entitled to introduce of few niche subjects. Although I'm not sure that a lack of replies necessarily always indicates a lack of interest. It could be that your comments on subjects such as the Outrage In Manchester are so well put, that people decide there's not much they can add to it.
Also, it's worth remembering that on a great deal of contentious subjects many people are afraid to air their views publicly; or to have their opinions on the record and in a place where their words can be traced back to them. Think of the U.S election. How many people, particularly women, would even confess to telephone pollsters that they intended to vote for Trump ? Likewise with the Left and most of the media branding anyone who intended to vote for Brexit a racist or closet Nazi. Is it any wonder that polling organisations were all predicting on Polling Day that a reasonably comfortable 'Remain' majority was expected ?
People will discuss issues in the privacy of their own homes, but have been conditioned to steer clear of discussing things like immigration in public, and most definitely so, if they know they don't hold the officially approved views. They trust they can vote according to their conscience in the secrecy of the polling station and anonymity of the ballot box, but the soul crushing requirement for political correctness reminds them that silence is the safer option in everyday life.
The level of harassment dished out by some TUFC Forum authorities for continuing to express views they don't approve of, has always been something certain members will happily endure as an acceptable price, and one well worth paying, rather than being brow beaten into accepting the Leftist Trustist conformity urged on us by our online masters.
The BBC's decision regarding the broadcasting of Rule Britannia to certain Welsh and Scottish audiences, is of course, shameful. But sadly not really surprising from the State broadcaster. The powers that be, know how the BBC behaves, knows the agenda it pushes, and doesn't lift a finger to change it. It's tacitly approved of, I'm certain.
Well done to Mr.W who at times has single-handedly kept the music thread going more recently. His 'domination' only being so because of the lack of contributions by others who are at liberty to add as much variety as they wish. Not always to my taste, but Mr.W introducing me to the musical delights of Jim Croce is something I'm grateful for. At sometime over the weekend I shall delve into the classical selection that Floridagull has laid out for us in this thread. If the Gulls are 3-0 down at half time at Barrow, I may forsake second half commentary, and instead attempt to find solace in 'Waltz of the Flowers'. However should we record our first victory of the season it'll be the 1812 Overture, with the sound cranked up to volume ten for the cannons ! And by Sunday I'll be ready to seek out Dame Kiri, and will listen with interest and pleasure to her 1992 rendition of Rule Britannia.

No 'Rule Britannia'...the world has gone mad. Well at least this country has anyway! Look at our pathetic exit from the EU! Sixty years ago after voting to leave the EU, the day after we would have left and told them if they didn't like it they could 'Bring it on!' I suppose we have to look on the bright side though and it could be worse...Corbett could be in charge!

So, Boris has put his face in all the papers again...as if we could forget our next Prime Minister! Has Boris advanced his political career though...or is it his 'Last Night of the Proms!' Polls say that around 70% of the country agree with him! Even some high Imam agrees with him, and refers to Burkas as some sort of Devilish device! I remember many years ago being with the Army in the Trucial States...when it was just a wilderness! Walking down a dry (very dry) gully, I came across a woman wearing the 'Full Monty!' She had the most fabulous eyes though! Instantly getting an erection (I did in those days) I wondered what my chances of a 'Knee-Trembler' were! My desires were short lived though, because she lifted up her face thingy...spat at my feet...and showed me a row of broken teeth!

Oh, Reg. If only you known the local habits and customs. That was her prepping to give you a blow job! Story of my life...
